We shouldn’t mistake ‘the way it used to be done’ for ‘the way it has to be done.

A common misconception is that stored-pressure dry chemical fire extinguishers should be inverted and struck with a rubber mallet to "fluff" the agent during maintenance. This practice is unnecessary and can potentially damage the extinguisher, pressure gauge, or cylinder. Proper inspections should always follow manufacturer guidelines and NFPA 10 requirements.

✨This never gets old or less exciting✨

Today, Emily Armistead and Lillian Pannell were awarded The Tom and Shirley Linville Children of First Responders Scholarship! Both girls are continuing their education at The University of Mississippi. Both wrote incredible essays on the example that was set before them having parents in the fire service. The energy and drive they both have is electric!!
