Over the coming months, members of the Old Town Fire Rescue will be out in the community conducting a Key Box Inspection and Maintenance Program.

These routine inspections help ensure that key boxes remain in good working order, contain current building access keys, and have up-to-date emergency contact information. This process also provides firefighters an opportunity to refamiliarize themselves with commercial properties and critical building features, helping us provide a faster and more effective response when emergencies occur.

Key boxes allow emergency responders to quickly gain access to a property without causing unnecessary damage from forcible entry, saving valuable time when every second counts.

If department personnel visit your property, we appreciate your cooperation as we verify information and inspect your key box.

Don't have a key box? Business or residential spaces interested in learning more about the program or purchasing a key box are encouraged to contact the fire department at 207-827-3400.

At Old Town Fire & Rescue, we see firsthand the difference a seat belt can make. In emergencies, seconds matter, but so does preparation before the crash ever happens.

Wearing your seat belt is one of the most important steps you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones. It helps prevent serious injuries, keeps you securely in your seat, and gives first responders a better chance to help you when it matters most.

For parents and caregivers, your actions speak volumes. When kids see you buckle up every time, they learn to do the same. Setting that example can build lifelong habits that keep them safe.

Whether you’re heading across town or just down the street, make it routine:
Buckle up. Every seat. Every time.

From all of us at Old Town Fire & Rescue, stay safe, and take care of one another. 🚒

🎉 Today we celebrate Captain Matt Redding on this milestone birthday and recognize a career built on dedication, leadership, and heart. With 27 years of service coming up, his commitment to the department and community has made a lasting impact.

Known for his legendary Christmas parties, Captain Redding has a special way of bringing everyone together and making the department truly feel like family. His leadership extends beyond the job, building traditions and camaraderie that mean just as much as the work itself.

It’s especially meaningful to see that legacy continue, with his son Avery following in his footsteps, a true testament to the example he’s set both at home and on the job.

Please join us in wishing Captain Redding a VERY Happy 50th Birthday! 🚒🎂
