Solstice walk, 10:03 am - noon, Sunday, Dec. 21. THIS WEEKEND!

December 21 will have the shortest day and longest night of the year, with only 9 hours between sunrise and sunset. At 10:03 AM Eastern, the northern hemisphere will reach its maximum tilt away from the sun--also called the winter solstice. Join fellow walkers to say goodbye to ever-shorter days and hello to more hours of sunshine. We'll also discuss some fun facts about this natural phenomenon.

Meet at 9:45 at the parking lot *across the street* from #231 Ingham Hill Road in Old Saybrook. We will leave the parking lot at 10:03, the precise moment of the solstice.

Children 8 & up are welcome. No dogs please. Pre-registration is appreciated. Rain or snow cancel the event. https://oldsaybrookct.myrec.com/info/activities/program_details.aspx?ProgramID=29745
