The Railroad Crossing at Northgate and Harold Page to wax philosophical while being stuck waiting for a train, or often two in opposite directions, to cross the street. Come and stay a while.

I created this page after I got stuck here for a good fifteen minutes. A northbound train was taking its sweet ass time doing no more than 10 MPH, and just as it was almost done a southbound train came through, also doing about 10 MPH. I got so frustrated that I thought this place should have its own check in. Because many people will spend time here.

Facebook keeps begging me to create a post about this page so here goes. Hi everyone. I'm the Railroad Crossing at Northgate and Harold that you all know and love. I am the place you park at while you wait for the northbound or southbound train to pass. Slowly. Often times finishing just as a train begins to cross in the other direction. You'd think we do this on purpose to torture you. Do we though? I'll never tell. Maybe someday the City of Olathe will raise the crossing or make it into a tunnel, but let's be honest. This intersection is here to stay and will continue to confound you for years to come. Facebook wants me to write a post about it being Black Friday, so here you go. I hope that nobody gets stuck at this railroad crossing today and is delayed in getting to Wal Mart or wherever.
