🎨🗳️ The Johnson County Election Office is excited to announce the winners of our first-ever “I Voted” Sticker Contest! Students and residents from across Johnson County submitted designs celebrating voting, civic engagement, and community pride. The Election Office was proud to partner with the Arts Council of Johnson County, whose members assisted in reviewing and selecting this year's winning designs.

Congratulations to our 2026 winners:

Yesterday, the winners were recognized during a special ceremony, where Kansas Secretary of State Scott Schwab presented each winner with a challenge coin in recognition of their outstanding artwork and civic spirit.

The winning sticker designs will be distributed randomly to voters who cast a ballot in Johnson County throughout the year. You never know which design you might receive when you vote!

We're also excited to announce that the “I Voted” Sticker Contest will become an annual tradition, featuring a new set of winning designs each year.

Thank you to everyone who participated, and congratulations again to our winners! We look forward to seeing what Johnson County creates next year.

As discussion regarding early in-person voting locations has increased, the Johnson County Election Office wants to make sure voters have accurate information about their voting options for the 2026 August Primary Election. The Election Office recently released additional information about the 2026 Advance Voting Plan and the voting opportunities available to Johnson County voters. Johnson County voters have three ways to vote:

✅ Early In-Person Voting
Vote at any of the 12 advance voting locations located throughout Johnson County from July 18 – August 3. Same days. Same locations. Same hours. Find locations online at JocoElection.org/AdvanceVoting

📬 Advance by Mail
Apply for a ballot by mail and return your completed ballot to one of 16 secure ballot drop boxes located throughout the county. Ballots must be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day. Applications and ballot drop box locations are available online at JocoElection.org/AdvanceVoting

🗳️ Election Day Voting
Vote at your assigned polling place on Tuesday, August 4, between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Voters can find their assigned Election Day polling place online at JocoElection.org/VoterView

Don't forget: Kansas law requires photo identification when voting in person.

📋 July 14 – Voter Registration Deadline

✉️ July 15 – Advance by Mail Ballots Begin Mailing
Ballots must be received by the election office by 7:00 p.m. on election night and can be returned at one of 16 secure ballot drop boxes located throughout the county. Locations available online at JocoElection.org/AdvanceVoting

📍 July 18 – Early In-Person Voting Begins

🗳️ Party Affiliation Deadline
Voters wishing to change their party affiliation must do so by June 1. Unaffiliated voters may affiliate with a party at any time. Voters can update their registration online at: www.JocoElection.org/OnlineRegistration

📋 Candidate Filing Deadline
Candidates must file by 12:00 noon on June 1.

🔹 State candidates file with the Kansas Secretary of State's Office.

🇺🇸 This morning, the Johnson County Election Office is at a naturalization ceremony alongside the Wyandotte County Election Office and the Kansas Secretary of State's Office, helping new citizens register to vote.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

The Johnson County Election Office will be closed Monday, May 25, in observance of Memorial Day.

On Monday, May 25, 2026, the Johnson County Election Office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

Voter registration resources are available online 24/7 at www.JocoElection.org

On Monday, May 25, 2026, Johnson County Government offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

We honor 81 service members killed or missing in action from WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War with two powerful memorials.

Navy Park at New Century AirCenter commemorates 24 Navy and Marine aviators from WWII and the Korean War, many of whom trained at the former Olathe Naval Air Station ("The Prairie Navy").

The Vietnam Memorial Plaza at Antioch Park in Merriam, dedicated in 1974, lists and honors 57 Johnson County soldiers lost in that war.

We are forever grateful for their service and sacrifice. ❤️

June 1st is the last day for voters to change their party affiliation. Your party affiliation determines which ballot you may receive in a partisan primary election.

🟨 Unaffiliated Voters
• May choose to affiliate with either major party at anytime and receive that party’s ballot

• May vote a ballot containing only nonpartisan races and questions
