For several years, Olalla families have asked for an on-site before- and after-school childcare option. We are excited to finally have Right At School available at Olalla this year.

Unfortunately, due to low enrollment, our Olalla program is at risk of being discontinued.

If before-school care, after-school care, or both would benefit your family, please consider registering your child today. Maintaining this service at Olalla depends on having enough families enrolled to sustain the program.

Right At School offers flexible enrollment options from 1–5 days per week, with care available as early as 6:00 a.m. and as late as 6:00 p.m.

If this is a service your family may use, now is the time to enroll and help keep before- and after-school care available at Olalla.

Thursday, August 27 is a big day at Olalla Elementary!

📱 Teacher Assignments Available
Beginning Thursday morning, families can log in to ParentSquare to view their child’s teacher assignment. ParentSquare is now our preferred way to share this information, so we will no longer post class lists or send individual assignment emails.

🏫 August Open House | 5:00–6:00 PM
Students and families are invited to:

Meet their teacher
Visit their classroom
Drop off school supplies before the first day of school — and save those backpacks from doing some serious heavy lifting!

While you’re here, stop by the Multi-Purpose Room to meet our PTA, before/after-school childcare program, and other community partners.

🎨 Chalk the Playground | 6:00–6:30 PM
Following Open House, we invite Olalla Owls past, present, and future to help us cover the playground with encouraging messages, colorful pictures, and words of inspiration for our students to discover on their first day of school.

Please keep all chalk artwork on horizontal playground and sidewalk surfaces and avoid chalking walls or buildings.

This week, our Olalla staff felt incredibly seen, valued, and appreciated — and that is because of the amazing support from our Olalla PTA and the incredible families that make up our school community. ❤️🦉
From smoothies and tacos to boxed lunches, dirty sodas, desserts, thoughtful notes, decorations, donations, and countless acts of kindness… every detail reflected the love and appreciation our community has for the people who serve students each day.
At Olalla Elementary, we often talk about being leaders — and while we are incredibly proud that Olalla continues to lead in multiple academic achievement areas, what truly sets our school apart is the people. Simply put: no school has better families than Olalla. The generosity, positivity, encouragement, and partnership our staff experiences from this community is something truly special, and it does not go unnoticed.
Our staff works hard for kids every single day, and this week your kindness filled their buckets in a big way.

Dear Olalla families - Olalla Elementary is releasing early due to power outage. No developmental preschool. For Olalla Elementary students already on campus, busses will be departing school at 10:00am and running their afternoon routes to deliver students home.

✈️🏅 History was made at Olalla Elementary! 🏅✈️

The First Annual Olalla Elementary Staff Paper Airplane Olympics officially took flight, and the competition was nothing short of legendary. Staff engineers put their design skills to the test in a showdown of aerodynamics, accuracy, and a little friendly rivalry.

🥇 Mr. Oster soared to victory, taking Gold in Distance with a flight that had the whole gym watching in awe.
🎯 Ms. Pack demonstrated pinpoint precision, earning Gold in Accuracy with a throw that hit the target perfectly. 😜

From creative designs to record-breaking flights, the event proved that when educators collaborate and have fun together, amazing things can happen. Our Mighty Olalla Owls know how to learn and how to fly! 🦉✈️

This friendly little girl was found in a pet-carrier outside Olalla Elementary early this morning. I don’t know the circumstances that led to her being left here, but in the event this was a mistake—or she belongs to someone who is currently looking for her—I wanted to share that she is safe.

We brought her inside, cleaned her crate, and provided fresh food and water. She appears to be a small Chihuahua or Chihuahua mix, likely an older adult, and very gentle. She’s alert and responsive, though understandably a bit stressed from the situation, and has been calm with staff.

She looks like she may have been someone’s companion, and we want to give every opportunity for her family to be located. Animal Control will be picking her up later this morning so she can be properly scanned for a microchip and cared for while next steps are determined.
