Friends of the Deep Fork The Friends of Deep Fork NWR is a 501 (c)3 organization. Members of the Friends group provide significant hours of volunteer service to the
Refuge.

The group was established in 2001 to provide support and services to Deep Fork NWR and the U.S Wildlife and Fisheries. Friends Accomplishments

The Friends of Deep Fork NWR have accomplished many different tasks in the
past several years. They have been instrumental in assisting the Refuge in
purchasing small tracts of land that the Refuge would have no way of purchasing. Whether assisting with

events, refuge maintenance, or the Refuge
hunting program, the Friends group is committed to helping the Refuge provide
recreational opportunities for local visitors. Projects that the Friends have assisted
with include: funding for the fishing dock at the Montezuma Creek pond; funding
for the new pavilion and tables at the Cussetah Bottoms boardwalk area; land
acquisition – several tracts.

The new Oklahoma regulations are out and now available.

Deep Fork NWR Hunting regulations brochure is also available. They can be picked up at the entrances of the NWR or the Deep Fork HQs.

I will note that the brochure came out before the published regulations and there are 2 sets of dates that have changed. Please refer to the actual hunting reg for dates concerning September Teal and Waterfowl (duck, dark geese, mergansers, coot) seasons.

Update: EVENT CANCELLED

Hunting season is getting close and we want to ensure you’re ready for the hunting season. Come join us for our annual Deer Hunter’s Warmup! We’ll be setup behind the Deep Fork Headquarters under the pavilion. Get out and ensure you’re ready for the ’25-‘26 hunting season.

The Well Done Foundation doing great things on the Deep Fork NWR.

Through legislation and grants they have stepped up to the challenge of plugging, cleaning and clearing orphaned wells on the Refuge.

Keep up the great work. Looking forward to meeting Curtis and his crew. The tanks and scrap metal that’s being dropped off at the old manufacturing building located on the corner of 4th and Oklahoma street is just some of what was and is on the refuge!

They are planning an open house Tuesday July 8th from 4-6pm at 114 West 7th, Okmulgee, OK.

First, I would like to say thank you to everyone that came out this weekend to Deep Fork HQs and shot the IBO World qualifier.

Second, thank you to all the Friends Group members that came out and helped setup, run, and tear down.

Next, thank you to Deep Fork for letting us use your location. It was awesome to hear the turkeys in the mornings and having them strut through the course. 🦃

Lastly thank you to Michael Rogers the Oklahoma IBO coordinator for your guidance, approval, and patiently answering all my questions and concerns.

It was a great success for our group hosting our first qualifier. I’m working calculations on payouts and will be mailing checks (minimum of 3 in a category).

In the mean time enjoy the photos and video from this weekend.
