At approximately 7:20 pm March 6, 2026 EMSAT was dispatched to the area of 180 and Grimes road for a possible tornado touchdown. While enroute, reports came in of severe damage with injuries. EMSAT dispatched additional units along with Chief Nichols. The first units on scene were met with multiple down trees and power lines blocking the roadway. Medics quickly deployed on foot with necessary medical supplies and initiated Mass Casualty protocols. Teams of two went home to home triaging victims. As reports came in, mutual aid assistance was requested from Creek County Ambulance Service which provided an additional two ambulances and crews. Approximately 15-20 patients were assessed, two of which were treated and transported by Creek County to a Tulsa hospital. Unfortunately two victims were pronounced deceased on scene. Crews remained on site for some time while additional first responders continued searching homes in the path of the tornado. EMSAT would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the area first responders on scene that helped with the initial search and rescues. Beggs Fire Department, Nuyaka Fire Department, Kiefer Fire Department, Mounds Fire Department, Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office, Muscogee CreeK Nation Lighthorse, Muscogee Creek Nation Emergency Management, Okmulgee County Emergency Management, Beggs Police Department, OHP, Tulsa Fire Department Task Force 1, Okmulgee County Commissioners, and many more. Seeing each and every agency come together and work side by side shows the dedication we all have for our community and this county.
