Welcome to Martin Park Nature Center, friends! About 40 more prairie dogs arrived this week from Elmer Thomas Park in Lawton, where the population is too large. Martin Park is one of a few Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) relocation sites throughout the state. These new prairie dogs arrived to diversify and grow our colony. Pro tip: visit during dawn and dusk to have the best chance to see these little guys scurrying around. Like us, they don't appreciate the ridiculous heat lately.

You might notice some new red basketball nets popping up across town. 👀❤️ They're a gift from Sam Boyd State Farm Agent! Sam donated more than 200 nets to go up in nearly 50 indoor and outdoor courts cared for by OKC Parks. This generous gift will last us about a YEAR! Thank you to Sam for supporting public parks!

Two slides and a crawl tube at Macklanburg Park will be blocked for several weeks for repairs. Vandalism not only eats up resources, but it keeps our youngest park visitors from enjoying the outdoors. If you see someone destroying park property, please call police.
