Hope grows when young people are given opportunities to see a different future.

The Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is working intentionally to bring more local programming and positive community connections to the youth at the Central Oklahoma Juvenile Center (COJC). More than simply adding activities, they are creating a culture shift—one that helps young people recognize their potential, experience hope, and become part of something bigger than themselves.

Today's conversation focused on identifying local partnership opportunities and learning more about the systems OJA has in place to screen, train, and equip volunteers to serve safely and effectively. It was encouraging to see the thoughtful approach being taken to ensure the right people are connected in the right ways.

We know that when agencies, faith communities, nonprofits, and local leaders come together around a shared purpose, incredible things can happen. By bringing the right partners to the table, we can help ignite hope, build healthy connections, and support young people as they pursue positive change and brighter futures.

The future of Oklahoma is worth investing in—and so are the young people who will shape it.

What an encouraging afternoon spent with leaders who are passionate about making a difference and willing to partner with agencies, communities, and families in ways that create meaningful impact.

It was a privilege to dream alongside the Oklahoma Assemblies of God about where they want to go next in caring for "the least, last, and lost." Vada Dwaileebe, OKAG Women's Director, has a genuine heart to see women step into their God-given influence to serve others and transform their communities.

OKAG Women exists to equip women to grow spiritually, lead confidently, and serve faithfully in their homes, churches, and communities. Through the Oklahoma Assemblies of God network of churches across our state, countless volunteers are already making an impact through foster care support, meeting practical needs, prison outreach, disaster response, food distribution, and caring for vulnerable Oklahomans.

We're grateful for partners like Oklahoma Assemblies of God who continue to ask, "How can we do more?" and then step forward in faith to answer that call. Together, we are building bridges between faith communities and agencies, strengthening families, and bringing hope to those who need it most.

The best ideas often begin around a table with people willing to listen, collaborate, and say "yes" to serving others.

Grateful doesn't even begin to describe how we feel today.

Our partners at Oklahoma Human Services reached out with a specific and urgent need for a young person served through Developmental Disabilities Services who was transitioning into a new home. To help make this move successful, several basic household and personal items were needed—and it was a request we simply couldn't ignore.

What happened next was a beautiful reminder of what makes Oklahoma so special.

Through the quick collaboration of Oklahoma Assemblies of God, 111Project, Crossings Church, and other community partners, the needed items were gathered and delivered right on time. What could have been a difficult transition became an opportunity for a young person to begin this new chapter with dignity, support, and HOPE.

We are incredibly thankful for every individual, church, and organization that stepped up so quickly. Your generosity not only met a practical need, but also encouraged the agency staff working tirelessly to serve Oklahomans every day.

This is what being a good neighbor looks like. This is what partnership looks like. And this is what hope in action looks like.

Real change happens when communities show up.

Recently, our office joined Victory Church Tulsa in visiting Red Rock Correctional Center in Lawton, Oklahoma. As the largest facility in the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, Red Rock houses more than 2,700 medium- and maximum-security male inmates.

For more than a year, Victory Church Tulsa has been investing its time, resources, and volunteers to serve incarcerated individuals across Oklahoma. Through privately funded outreach events, they bring fellowship, grilled hamburgers, encouragement, and hope. They are demonstrating what it means for communities to engage in meaningful prison outreach and support rehabilitation efforts.

To date, this collaboration has reached 12 correctional facilities across the state and continues to grow. These efforts are a powerful example of faith communities partnering alongside government agencies to bring hope, encouragement, and positive connections to individuals working toward a better future.

We are grateful for Victory Church Tulsa's commitment to serving others and for the many volunteers who make these events possible. We are especially grateful to the Oklahoma Department of Corrections for their collaboration and dedication to welcoming community partners into their facilities to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who are incarcerated. Together, we are strengthening communities, supporting restoration, and demonstrating that every life has value.

What a joy to be in Woodward alongside Oklahoma Assembly of God leadership, 111Project, local pastors, and church representatives alongside with Oklahoma Human Services.

This group listened with open hearts as child welfare leadership and staff shared local county statistics, current needs, and the gaps they are working diligently to address.

What followed was powerful — churches responding with ideas for partnership, ways to strengthen local families, and support for those fostering within the community.

We are incredibly grateful for opportunities like this to highlight the dedicated workforce, compassionate leadership, and the meaningful partnerships that can grow when communities come together with a shared purpose.

Looking forward to seeing the collaborative work these teams will accomplish together to bring hope and support to families in their community.

Director Bobek recently had the opportunity to tour and learn more about Tulsa Day Center, a nonprofit organization that has been serving individuals experiencing homelessness for nearly 40 years.

Executive Director Mack Haltom and former Board Chair Rachel Blue-Vincent shared how Tulsa Day Center works every day to provide hope, stability, and support for neighbors in need throughout the Tulsa community.

Tulsa Day Center offers a wide range of services including emergency shelter, case management, medical care, housing assistance, meals, clothing, and other critical resources designed to help individuals move toward long-term stability and self-sufficiency. Their mission is centered on serving those experiencing or at risk of homelessness while working toward a future where every Tulsan has a home.

We are grateful for organizations like Tulsa Day Center that continue making a meaningful impact through compassion, collaboration, and service to others.
