On May 1st, 2026, No Kings Portland/ 50501 Portland will be one of the > 50 local organizations participating in a rally and march for International Worker’s Day. Our call to action is “ NO WORK, NO SCHOOL AND NO SHOPPING”.

About 2 weeks ago, on April 6th, a worker collapsed and died at Amazon’s Troutdale facility. Coworkers say they were told to keep working around his body.

A 46-year-old man died at Amazon’s PDX9 warehouse in Troutdale Oregon. While the 46-year old laid helplessly on the floor, workers described that conveyor belts still operating, packages still moving, and a workplace that, by their account, tried to work around a medical emergency instead of stopping for it.

This is abhorrent. It is time for worker’s to rise up. They don’t care about us and they dont care about you, clearly.

What is May Day? We keep getting asked this. Yes, its may poles and flowers, but its also American Labor History that they either dont want us not to know, or fail to tell the full story.

May Day around the world is the celebration of International Worker’s Day. A national holiday across Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa. We dont observe this on May 1st like the rest of the world, even though the events that unfolded happened right here in Chicago.

On May 1st we plan to observe this holiday like we used to, and have provided you with the history on why you should too! ✊

Do you have experience managing social media accounts, or simply just enjoy creating content and engaging with followers? If so, we’re still looking to add to our team!

We’re active across multiple platforms including: Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Substack, Reddit, Discord or Buffer (or others for social media management) and if you enjoy any of these we’d love to have you as a contributing member of our team!

You’d be mostly responsible for monitoring engagement and coordinating as a team to strategize optimal approaches and following up with our followers. These are things that require a decent size team to manage across that many platforms and keep messaging consistent.

🚨So what if we told you…. That the next community wide action we need you all to take part in with us is actually- just noping out of this rat race for a moment?

That’s right fam! We’re gearing up to act in solidarity in a nationwide day of economic disruption. Friday, May 1st we’re calling for another day of no work, no school and no spending (well okay, if your rent is due I think we can let that slide 😉). This is a marathon, not a sprint, this will be a practice run and a threat- where working-class/community solidarity is the name of the game. If we can pull this off consistently, we build momentum for the General Strike y’all have been calling for.

On March 28th, we took part in the largest Nationwide day of protest in our nation’s history. No Kings is great for community building and visibility, but our real power is borne of our labor and economic contributions. There’s ~360 million of us in the US who control the majority of that power, how many of that 360M, or of the 8M who showed up on Saturday, will show up (or technically not show up, for work or the checkout line) for their community again on May Day?

Please stay tuned for updates and announcements across all of our platforms as the day draws closer. Join our email list if you’re afraid you wont see our posts. Because divided we will beg, but united we will stand. And we intend to send another strong message of unity that we have another 30 days to pull off ✊❤️‍🔥

THANK YOU PORTLAND!! We had another very successful No Kings Day yesterday and it’s because you all stay so committed to showing up and contributing as a community!

That being said, the work CANNOT stop after No Kings Day is over. We must continue to do the work outside of that day, and with that we are coming to you to ask you to do just that:

Contact to first thank her for investing in preschool for all, but demand that she changes her stance and draws a line in regards to Data Center construction!!

If you have the means please donate to Community Resilience Funds. Help our local community members who are on strike RIGHT NOW! If you dont have the means, you can also sign up to donate food and drinks, or even commit to picketing alongside them!! Our teachers and school faculty are our future!!

Today is the day!! T- 4 hours ‘till the No Kings 3 Rally at the Battleship Oregon Memorial. March will begin around 1pm after the Rally. Orgs and Performances will be there early, ready to go at 11, please arrive early if you need seating as were expecting this to be our biggest yet!!

will be doing his people powered art install, so meet him and the crew at the Burnside Bridge at 1pm if you wish to be a part of that before joining up with the end of the march!
