Sgt. Jaxon McAlister, a combat engineer squad leader with 2/8 (forward deployed with 4th Marines, 3rd Marine Division), preps a target on the demolition range during Fuji Viper 26.3 at Camp Fuji, Japan.

This annual combined arms live-fire exercise keeps our Marines operating in the Indo-Pacific lethal, tactically proficient, and ready to respond anywhere across the first island chain.

More Than a Workout

Monthly pool functions give our poolees the opportunity to build camaraderie, strengthen their commitment, and physically prepare for the challenges of recruit training.

Recently, as part of their monthly pool function, poolees of Corps Recruiting Station Midwest City,OK pushed their limits by conducting a simulated casualty evacuation drill, ensuring they have the teamwork and physical endurance before recruit training.

Lance Cpl. Paul D. Sullivan

This week, we are proud to recognize Lance Cpl. Paul D. Sullivan, who recently graduated from recruit training at MCRD San Diego as the HONOR GRADUATE!
LCpl. Sullivan earned this distinction by demonstrating exceptional discipline, proficiency, physical fitness, and leadership throughout training, consistently exemplifying the highest standards of the Marine Corps.

He was recruited by SSgt. Flynn, our local recruiter serving Bartlesville and the surrounding areas.

Fair Winds and Following Seas Maj. Gravelle, Welcome Maj. Smith!

U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Darryl Gravelle relinquished command of Recruiting Station Oklahoma City to Maj. Amish Smith at the Oklahoma State Capitol, July 1, 2026.

A change of command ceremony is a Marine Corps tradition that formally transfers responsibility, authority, and accountability from one commanding officer to another.

GUTHRIE DEDICATES POST OFFICE TO MARINE, MEDAL OF HONOR RECIPIENT AND MAIL CARRIER OSCAR J. UPHAM

Residents, veterans, and community leaders gathered May 27, 2026, to officially dedicate the local Guthrie, Oklahoma, post office to Oscar J. Upham. Upham was a Guthrie hometown hero, U.S. Marine, and Medal of Honor recipient who served 34 years as a local mail carrier.

Zacheria Barton, a grenadier with Alpha Company, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, Marine Rotational Force – Darwin, provides security during a patrol as part of Exercise Tagata Toa in Plum, New Caledonia, April 28, 2026. Exercise Tagata Toa 26 is a high-intensity, regimental-level, combined arms exercise hosted by the French Armed Forces in New Caledonia meant to enhance interoperability and strengthen relationships between nations operating in the South Pacific.
