LifeShare of Oklahoma

LifeShare of Oklahoma You have the opportunity to save lives: be an organ, eye and tissue donor! The 21,109 square foot building was completely renovated both inside and out.

LifeShare, created in 1986 as The Oklahoma Organ Sharing Network, is a nonprofit, federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO) dedicated to the recovery of organs and tissue for transplant purposes. We work closely with five transplant centers (OU Medical Center, The Children's Hospital at OU Medical Center, Integris Baptist Medical Center, Saint Francis Hospital and St. John’s Medical Center) and 145 healthcare organizations in the state of Oklahoma to facilitate donation. Additionally, we strive to raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation and transplantation through public education. LifeShare Transplant Donor Services of Oklahoma is located at 4705 NW Expressway in Oklahoma City. LifeShare has an in-house communications center for tissue screening and a fully operational clean room to enhance kidney pump operations. There is a secondary office located in Tulsa and tissue recovery center in Oklahoma City. LifeShare has approximately 100 staff members responsible for various tasks including organ, eye and tissue screening and recovery, medical management of potential donors, quality control services, bereavement care for families, public education and awareness, hospital development and basic administration.

Who decides who receives a donated organ?

It’s not based on wealth, fame or social status.

Organ allocation follows a national system designed to match donated organs with patients based on medical and logistical factors — including things like blood type, medical urgency, location and other criteria.

Behind every transplant is a story of courage, generosity and hope. 💙💚

Ania’s story of her cousin Baylor is a reminder of the incredible impact a donor and their family can have — changing not just one moment, but an entire future.

This is why donation matters.

For Lowell, being a dad meant doing whatever he could to give his daughter a better chance at life.

When she needed a kidney transplant, Lowell didn’t just hope for a match — he stepped forward to see if he could be the one to give her a kidney.

As a living kidney donor, Lowell gave his daughter more than an organ. He gave her hope, more time and the chance to keep making memories together.

His story is a powerful reminder that sometimes, love leads us to give in ways we never imagined.
