The US Marshal Posse of the Western District of Oklahoma is a civilian non-profit corporation dedicated to honoring the United States Marshal Service. The United States Marshal Service is the oldest law enforcement agency in the United States. The first 13 US Marshals were appointed by the, then current, President George Washington in 1789. The US Marshal was the only law enforcement officer in th
e Oklahoma and Indian Territories besides the Tribal Police Agencies prior to the organization of Oklahoma as a Territory and later as the 46th State in the Union. The US Marshal Posse of the Western District of Oklahoma dedicated to the memory and honor of what the US Marshal Service has and still means to the State Of Oklahoma. We, as Posse members are proud of the support shown for us by the US Marshal Service and US Marshal Charles Weeks, who is currently serving as the 22rd US Marshal of the Western District of Oklahoma. The dedication and sacrifice of the brave individuals of the Marshal Service in the Oklahoma and Indian Territories is unmatched in any other part of the world. More U S Marshals and their Deputies have lost their lives in the enforcement of the law in the Oklahoma and Indian Territories than in all other States or Territories of our nation combined. And we, as civilians, are proud to honor and denote the sacrifice made by these brave and heroic individuals; The United States Marshal Service.
