Greetings everyone,

Today we celebrate Military Spouse Appreciation Day, recognizing the love, support and dedication our military spouses give to our Marines. Whether training in garrison or deployed overseas, Marines depend on the support of those we love to be able to accomplish the mission. Life in a military family poses unique challenges, but military spouses remain steadfast, thoughtful, and resourceful — exhibiting those same high qualities we expect from our Marines.

From Fox Battery, we wanted to say Thank You to all the spouses for your support.

Semper Fi.

ALMARS 013/24

In 1984, President Ronald Reagan established Military Spouse Appreciation Day to honor the significant contributions, support, and sacrifices of military spouses. This recognition, which remains as important today, demonstrates the role of a military spouse being the epitome of grace, resilience, strength, and devotion, thriving in the active environment of military life.
2. Friday, 10 May 2024 has been designated as Military Spouse Appreciation Day. As we celebrate this special day, all Marines and Sailors are encouraged to show their sincere gratitude to their spouse for their unwavering support and dedication. Additionally, I encourage leaders at all levels to take advantage of Military Spouse Appreciation Day to formally recognize the steadfastness of your Marine's and Sailor's spouses.
3. My wife, Trish, and I offer our sincere appreciation to all Marine Corps and Navy spouses serving with our Marines. Thank you for your commitment and support of our Corps, Marines, Sailors, and your communities. There is no mistaking that the bond between you and your Marine or Sailor is a strategic element of what makes the Corps ever ready to answer our Nation’s call.
4. Semper Fidelis! Eric M. Smith, General, U.S. Marine Corps, Commandant of the Marine Corps.

Marines with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment 1st Battalion participated in their Annual Training In Fort Greeley, and Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska.

This annual training was part of Artic Edge 2024. Arctic Edge 2024 (AE24) is a U.S. Northern Command-led homeland defense exercise demonstrating the U.S. military’s capabilities in extreme cold weather, joint force readiness, and U.S. military commitment to mutual strategic security interests in the arctic region.

Arctic Edge 2024 presented Fox Battery with the opportunity to conduct a HIRAIN in extreme arctic weather for the first time. A High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) rapid infiltration (HIRAIN). The training exercise involved extreme cold weather and high latitude environment training in various locations throughout Alaska. This training evolution was definitely a challenge to the battery. Fox Battery was able to overcome all challenges and successfully complete the training evolution.

Great job Fox Battery.

Semper Fidelis.
