New Day Camp simply would not be possible without the incredible volunteers who give so generously of themselves each year. For nearly a week, they step away from their routines and responsibilities to invest their time, energy, patience, and care into the lives of these children.

Their willingness to serve helps create a place where campers feel welcomed, supported, and valued. The impact they make extends far beyond the activities of the week, and we are deeply grateful for the commitment, compassion, and hard work they bring to New Day Camp.

For children with incarcerated parents who have experienced trauma and difficult life circumstances, trust doesn’t always come easily.

That’s why team building activities are such an important part of New Day Camp. These exercises are not only fun and challenging, but they also help campers learn to trust their partners and teammates. Through encouragement, cooperation, and shared success, they discover that they can rely on others and that others can rely on them.

One of our favorite moments at New Day Camp each year is watching the kids receive their brand-new Nike tennis shoes.

Thanks to a very generous donor, every child who attends camp gets a new pair. It may not seem like a big deal to some, but for many of our kids, it’s a huge blessing. The excitement on their faces, the smiles, and the way they proudly show off their new shoes is something special to see.

It’s about more than just shoes. It’s about a child feeling valued, cared for, and knowing that someone they may never meet believes they matter.

We’re incredibly grateful for this donor’s kindness and for the joy they bring to so many children each summer. Seeing those faces light up reminds us why we do what we do.

New Day Camp 2026 has officially come to an end, and what a fabulous week it has been!

Five days filled with fun, food, laughter, food, team-building activities, food, boating and tubing, food, sunburns, food, hugs, and… did we mention food? 🍔🌭🍉

For children who have incarcerated parents, New Day Camp provides a special opportunity to make memories, build friendships, and simply enjoy being kids. Watching these campers laugh, grow, and experience the love and support of our community has been a true blessing.

We cannot say thank you enough to our incredible volunteers, generous donors, the amazing Cross Point Camp staff, and of course the parents and caregivers who trusted us with their precious kiddos this week. This camp would not be possible without each and every one of you.

Thank you for helping make New Day Camp 2026 such a meaningful and unforgettable experience. We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again at New Day Camp 2027!

🎉 We’re excited to announce that Empty Bowls, Filled Souls 2026 is officially on the calendar! 🎉

Invitations are currently in the works and will be going out very soon! If you’re not already on our mailing list, please email your contact information to [email protected] so we can add you. We promise, this is an event you do not want to miss!

Right now, we are in need of bowl donations! 🥣

What we’re looking for:
✨ A variety of bowls in different colors, styles, and shapes.

✨ Bowls should be made of ceramic, glass, or china and suitable for serving soup.

✨ We also need 25 to 30 large centerpiece bowls (also ceramic, glass, or china) for guests to place their donations in before leaving the event.
