Now that’s MUCH better,

Quick reminder for hotter days: Road buckling, also known as pavement buckling or “pop-up”, occurs when pavement material expands and pushes upward, creating bumps or dips in the road surface.

This is often due to extreme heat. When temperatures rise, pavement materials, especially , expand. If this expansion is in a compact spot, it can lead to parts of the pavement being pushed upwards, resulting in a buckle.

Our crews are always monitoring for emergency repairs but be on the lookout for buckles or pop-ups during those hot summer days.

Sing and dance along with those smooooth excavator moves.
🕺💃

ICYMI: The US-81 Realignment project is underway, constructing an 8-mile new alignment west of town. This project will reduce heavy commercial traffic in downtown Chickasha and 4th Street, creating safer, quieter streets for residents while boosting this rural freight corridor.

The corridor is critical to the local, state and national economy. It is used for the transportation of supplies, equipment and products to support oil and gas, military operations and agricultural industries that sustain people and communities throughout the state and greater region.

Watch out for our crews and think about this song every time you see our excavators gliding across the dirt.

Don't make us tap the sign. Clean-up is expensive. Keep that trash off the highways.

On National Secure Your Load Day, we are reminding drivers everywhere of the importance of taking your time to secure your load before hitting the road!
Here are some tips to secure your cargo properly:

- Ropes loosen under pressure. Use heavy duty ratchet straps, cargo nets, or heavy tarps to lock down items completely.
- Tie large objects directly to your vehicle or trailer.
- Do not load excessive amounts of cargo in or on your vehicle or trailer.
- Always double-check your load to make sure it’s secure.

Whether in the back of a passenger truck, a car or a large commercial motor vehicle, unsecured cargo is dangerous to everyone you share the road with. Safety outside the vehicle is just as important as safety inside. It is every driver’s responsibility to ensure all their cargo is safely secured.

Remember to drive safely and today and every day. 👍

The wind (and Emily) is here to tell you about I-40 and Blvd. westbound ramp closure. 🌫

Weather permitting, the westbound I-40 off-ramp to southbound Garth Brooks Blvd. will be closed from 9 a.m. Thursday, June 4 to 7 a.m. Monday, June 8. BUT, traffic will still be able to turn right (northbound) onto Garth Brooks Blvd.

ODOT will be replacing the concrete, so plan ahead for ramp closures and a much-needed smoother commute.
