Last month, more than 450 Oklahoma teachers spent last week strengthening their early literacy instruction through OEQA's Early Literacy Teacher Academies.
In partnership with eight Oklahoma universities, the 40-hour training focused on the Science of Reading and structured literacy, helping teachers build evidence-based strategies for K–3 classrooms.
As Dr. Annie Keehn of Oklahoma Baptist University shared, "Reading proficiency in the early grades is the foundation of all future academic success... these academies empower teachers to offer life-changing literacy instruction for students across Oklahoma."
Thank you to Oklahoma State University, the University of Oklahoma (Norman and Tulsa), Oral Roberts University, Northeastern State University, East Central University, Langston University and Oklahoma Baptist University for partnering in this important work.
