What a fantastic day at the 2026 Hispanic Child Care Providers Conference!

More than 100 child care providers from across Oklahoma gathered this past Saturday to learn, connect, and grow together. Attendees explored the latest research on brain development, discussed the critical role of play in early learning, and shared ideas and experiences with fellow providers from across the state.

By investing in the professional growth of child care providers and strengthening connections across the early childhood community, we are helping build a stronger, higher-quality child care system for Oklahoma's children and families. Oklahoma families are struggling to afford child care — and the numbers don't lie. Infant care costs rose 27% from 2023 to 2025, and the average Oklahoma family now spends 15% of their income just to keep their kids in care.

Our Executive Director Grace Kelley spoke with KGOU and StateImpact Oklahoma about the perfect storm driving this crisis and what Oklahoma lawmakers are doing about it.
