Scouts BSA Troop 177 Welcome to Scouts BSA Troop 177, serving Oklahoma City, Edmond and Deer Creek! Naturally the outdoors is a big part of the program but we do not stop there.

Our Troop works with all aspects of the scouting program. Advancement, Personal Growth, Responsibility, Community Service and Citizenship are emphasized in our programs and activities. Leadership Development

Scouting is a laboratory for developing leadership. Our boys learn this from the beginning of their Troop experience. Lord Baden-Powell, the fou

nder of the scouting movement said that “Scouting is a game with a purpose.” Leadership is a process involving getting things done by working with people. Our Scouts learn this through direct interactions with Adults, Scout Leaders and most importantly other Scouts. We help our Scouts learn these skills and then apply them to everyday life so they can use them for a lifetime of success. Most Important it’s Fun! Our Scouts can not wait to “get out there.” Be it orienteering, hiking, rocket launching, climbing, rappelling, canoeing, horseback riding, water sports and many other annual activities we always make sure the primary ingredient is fun.

In 2026, the United States celebrates its 250th birthday, and Scouting America will be part of that national moment right here in the Last Frontier Council.
This will be a once-in-a-generation celebration.

Scouts, let’s take a moment to pause and reflect. Our world can feel divided: people pitted against each other, like we’re being pulled by strings to fight over differences. It’s not about one group versus another, whether it’s politics, beliefs, or backgrounds. It’s about all of us being part of something bigger: our community, our country, our shared values.

The Scout Law teaches us to be trustworthy, loyal, and kind. We don’t have to agree on everything, but we must respect each other. Disagreements don’t make us enemies. We can differ and still stand together, united as Scouts and as people. There’s no place for hatred or thinking someone doesn’t belong just because they see things differently.

I care about each of you, no matter what you believe. Let’s rise above division, focus on what unites us, and live by our Scout Oath to do our best for each other and our world.

Congratulations to our five amazing Troop 177 Scouts graduating high school this year!
We're incredibly proud of Eli Stumph, Darius Maree, Nate Hill, Noah Goggs, and Tyler Afonien for their hard work, leadership, and dedication both in Scouting and their academics. These young men have embodied the Scout Oath and Law, and we can’t wait to see the great things they’ll achieve next. Join Troop 177 in celebrating their milestone!
