Twenty-five years later, we remember.

On Sept. 11, 2001, our nation witnessed an attack that changed America forever. This Patriot Day, we honor those who lost their lives, those who served in the aftermath and the countless Americans who came together to help one another in a time of profound need.

Innovation is helping shape the future of the National Guard in Oklahoma.

Staff Sgt. Herbert Hailey, Oklahoma Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion, developed an artificial intelligence tool that could save more than 61,000 hours of administrative labor across the force.

Built using skills gained through an Oklahoma National Guard-hosted AI and data training course, the tool automates the process of identifying Soldiers eligible for time-in-service awards, allowing personnel professionals to spend less time processing paperwork and more time supporting Soldiers and mission readiness.

The Oklahoma National Guard continues to explore how emerging technologies can improve efficiency, strengthen readiness and better serve its Soldiers and Airmen.
