The Fire Marshals Association of Oklahoma is proud to help spread the word for a cause that hits close to home.

Our partners at Infinity Fire are hosting The Manly Invitational ALS Golf Benefit in support of Dustin and his family. This isn’t just a golf tournament. It’s people showing up for one of their own when it matters most.

ALS is a tough fight. It affects more than just the individual. It impacts families, kids, and every part of life around them. Events like this are how we stand together and remind folks they’re not facing it alone.

If you’re able, consider putting a team together, sponsoring a hole, or helping support in any way you can. Even sharing this post helps carry the message further.

We appreciate Infinity Fire and the continued partnership they’ve shown across Oklahoma. Now’s a good time to return that support.

The Oklahoma Fire Marshals Association, in partnership with OKIAAI and the Oklahoma Forensic Research Institute, is working to bring a Post-Flashover Fire Origin Investigation course to Oklahoma.

This will be a full week of hands-on training focused on real-world application. Students will work through fire pattern interpretation, compartment fire dynamics, arc mapping, origin hypothesis development, and a full-scale fire investigation scenario.

Hosted by Oklahoma City Fire Department at their training center, this course is designed to push beyond the basics and put you in a complex, realistic environment.

• Target timeframe: Mid–late May
• Cost: $700 per student
• CLEET credit available
• CFI scene exam requirements can be completed during the course

We need a minimum of 10 committed students (max 20) to make this happen.

If you’re serious about sharpening your investigative skills, this is worth your time.

Let us know if you’re interested or ready to commit.

Today, members of our legislative committee had the opportunity to speak with the Public Safety Caucus in the House of Representatives. We shared our organizational history, highlighted our mission, and emphasized our commitment to serving as a trusted educational resource.

Our goal today and everyday we spend at the capitol is to support lawmakers by providing expertise and guidance on code-related legislation and proposed changes.

We look forward to continuing to build this relationship and serving as a reliable partner in public safety.

Closing out this year’s Spring Conference with a timely NFPA update. A big thank you to Meredith from the Oklahoma City Fire Department for joining us and sharing valuable insight on how we can better engage our communities about the safe storage, use, and maintenance of devices powered by lithium-ion batteries.

Education and proactive outreach are key to reducing fire risks and keeping our communities safe.
