Every Memorial Day, we pause as a nation to remember and honor the extraordinary men and women who laid down their lives in defense of our freedom.

From the battlefields of the Revolutionary War to the mountains of Afghanistan and the streets of Iraq, from the beaches of Normandy to the skies over the Pacific, generations of brave Americans have paid the ultimate price so that our Nation might endure. We honor those who died in combat, those who succumbed to wounds long after the guns fell silent, and those who carried the invisible scars of service until their final breath.

We also lift up the Gold Star families. They are the mothers, fathers, spouses, children, and siblings who bear the heaviest burden of all. Their loved ones’ names are etched into our national memory, but their absence is felt every single day. Today, and every day, we stand with these families, grateful beyond words for the sacrifice they too have made.

During my service in the United States Navy, I had the honor to serve alongside remarkable men and women who embodied duty, courage, and selfless commitment. Some of those incredible men and women are no longer with us today. I honor their memory with deep gratitude and humility.

My wife and I were honored to participate in this year’s Memorial Day Event hosted by the Shawnee VFW at Veterans Park, as well as the 1st Annual Gold Star Family Event at The Pottawatomie County Veterans Educational Museum. What an incredible turnout! None of this would be possible without the dedication of so many outstanding individuals, especially Jessie Newell and the many volunteers who worked tirelessly to make both events a success.

We enjoyed attending the 1st Annual Gold Star Family Event. A project envisioned by Mr. Bill Ford in honor of his wife, Nancy Ford, whose father was killed during World War II. We were honored to present them a commemorative citation. The Ford Family played a major role in creating the Pottawatomie County Veterans Educational Museum, including 18 years of dedicated work to bring it to fruition.

May God bless our fallen heroes, their Gold Star families, all who serve today, and the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Today, at the Oklahoma State Capitol, we had the privilege to hear from Tecumseh, North Rock Creek, and Meeker High School bands united to premiere a specially commissioned work celebrating America’s 250th anniversary.
On a spring afternoon in 2026, the combined bands from these three Oklahoma school districts performed “A Vast Future,” a new musical composition by Jackson Anderson of Moore, Oklahoma. The performance, which began at 1:30 PM, marked the official premiere of this piece written specifically for the United States Semiquincentennial (America 250), commemorating 250 years since the nation’s founding in 1776.

This event exemplified how school bands serve as cultural ambassadors, connecting students, families, and communities through live music. By commissioning and premiering original work, these Oklahoma programs contributed something lasting to the national America 250 celebrations.

We appreciate the composer, Jackson Anderson, an Oklahoma-based composer, conductor, educator, and adjudicator known for his work in wind band music.

Thank you to John Outon, Band Director at Tecumseh High School, who played a key role in coordinating the collaboration. Mr. Outon is recognized as the East Central Oklahoma Band Directors Association Band Director of the Year in early 2026 and he has a strong track record of fostering musical excellence and community partnerships.

Happy Mother’s Day to Ana Jett!

Ana Jett is truly a wonderful woman and mother. She is kind, strong, radiant, and full of love that lights up everyone around her. Our family is grateful to have her in our lives.

We also celebrate all mothers — the ones who rise early, stay up late, cheer the loudest, and care the deepest. Whether you are nurturing little ones, guiding teenagers, supporting grown children, or pouring your heart into your role as a mother figure, your quiet sacrifices, endless encouragement, and steady presence make our community stronger, warmer, and brighter.
Thank you for all that you give today and every day!

The Christian Employers Alliance, which engages a network of more than 20,000 faith-based employers across all 50 states, including many of the largest faith-based organizations in the country, released the Oklahoma edition of its Biblical Business Index.

The Index measures how closely lawmakers’ voting records align with principles rooted in Scripture.

The report found that 50 of the 149 members of the Oklahoma Legislature voted with the biblically based position at least 80% of the time or more and will receive the Defender of Biblical Business Award at a private award event today that will bring together leading Christian CEOs from across Oklahoma.

🎈Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife, Ana! 🎉🎈

Ana is my early-morning and late-night conversation about how best to serve the people of our district. Her perspective keeps me grounded and focused on what's truly important.

What stands out most about Ana is how deeply caring she is, not just toward our own family, but toward everyone around us. Ana pours herself into people. Whether it's encouraging someone who's struggling, praying for those facing hardship, or simply showing genuine kindness.

Ana is remarkably smart, multilingual and well-read. She has a natural gift for understanding people. I often tell her she would make an outstanding senator if she ever chose that path. Her insight, integrity, and dedication to serving others would serve any district well. She doesn't seek the spotlight, but her influence touches everything I do. I am truly blessed to have Ana as my wife. Please join me in wishing her a very Happy Birthday! 🎈🎉

What an incredible honor today at the Oklahoma State Capitol! 🇺🇸
My alma mater, Oklahoma Baptist University, brought their inaugural President’s Leadership Class (22 outstanding freshmen) to the Capitol for PLC Day. These young men and women are already learning what servant leadership really looks like — deepening self-awareness, finding their unique voice, and discovering that true leadership always serves others.
They were led by my classmate from the OBU Class of 1997, OBU President Dr. Heath A. Thomas, and PLC Director Janis Rasnic.
My dear friend and Senate colleague, Senator Dusty Deevers (Southern Baptist Pastor from Elgin), joined me as we met with the entire group in a legislative committee room. Together we fielded their thoughtful questions and enjoyed a rich conversation on political philosophy and theology as they apply to public policy. The students were engaged, curious, and insightful — it was one of the most meaningful discussions I’ve had in the Capitol.
They also met with Senate Pro Tempore Lonnie Paxton, Speaker Kyle Hilbert, and even a special photo with Governor Stitt and OBU alumna Jennifer Shoop.
From the 9:30 a.m. meetings to observing the legislative session in the gallery, these future leaders saw government up close and personal — and I’m confident they left inspired to “chart the future, create buy-in, and execute goals with the right processes,” just as Dr. Thomas challenged them.
OBU is in my Senate District 17, and representing this outstanding university and its students is one of the greatest privileges of my life.
Thank you, Dr. Thomas, Janis, the entire President’s Leadership Class, and my good friend Senator Dusty Deevers! The future is bright because of leaders like you.

“Where Leaders Emerge” — indeed they do.

Proud OBU Bison & Senator Shane Jett

We are celebrating Zoë’s birthday today!
Zoë is my Executive Assistant and she is truly a blessing in our office and to every constituent she serves. Please join me, my family, and our entire Senate District 17 team in wishing her a very Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday, Zoë! May the Lord crown this new year of your life with His goodness (Psalm 65:11), fill your days with His joy and strength, grant the desires of your heart that align with His will (Psalm 20:4), and draw you even closer to Him. Thank you for all you do and for being a light in our office. May this birthday be filled with peace and a deep sense of God’s loving presence surrounding you.
Happy Birthday!

Today the world is celebrating International Women’s Day. Whether they yet know Christ fully or not, the Lord sees their labor and their heart.

God made everything perfect in His perfect plan for us all. Women are the backbone of our families, churches, and nation. Their strength, sacrificial love, and unwavering commitment to God’s design bring stability and blessing wherever they serve.

We honor single mothers who, often under great pressure, pour out sacrificial love day after day to raise their children with honor, determination, and grace.

We also lift up in prayer and honor the brave women in many nations who endure violence, oppression, and danger—often in conflict zones, under unjust laws, or in cultures that deny their God-given worth. Scripture commands us to defend the oppressed: “Learn to do right; seek justice, correct the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead the case of the widow” (Isaiah 1:17). God Himself is “a father to the fatherless, a defender of widows” (Psalm 68:5), and He calls His people to protect the vulnerable.

Today, we give thanks and celebrate womanhood—for the virtuous women who build homes, work diligently, clothe themselves in dignity and faith, teach wisdom to the next generation, and stand for life and liberty.

I honor the most important women in my life. I have been blessed to have my wonderful wife, An and our daughters by my side.

With gratitude and respect,
Senator Shane Jett

Thousands of Oklahomans, especially in our eastern counties, have loudly opposed the UNCHECKED expansion of industrial wind energy. They continue to raise serious alarms about safety risks, massive liability issues, violations of property rights, and the heavy burden of taxpayer subsidies.

Wind energy development has become a classic taxpayer-funded boondoggle—one that endangers non-participating landowners, compromises community safety, and undermines Oklahoma's proven strengths in traditional oil and natural gas production.

Several lawmakers were invited to speak with concerned Oklahomans at the State Capitol, joining organized groups like CFACT, Save Oklahoma Farms and Ranches, and dozens of allied organizations. They want an immediate halt to this subsidy-driven wind turbine onslaught. They want stronger, expanded setbacks from homes and non-participating properties, a moratorium on new projects in sensitive rural areas, and real protections for our land, private property rights, family farms, ranches, and the scenic rural landscapes that define our state.

Oklahoma's eastern regions—more densely populated and wooded than the western plains—are particularly vulnerable. Towering turbines (often 700+ feet) threaten viewsheds, property values, wildlife, and quality of life, all while developers rush to lock in federal tax credits before deadlines expire. This isn't about oposing clean energy; it's about protecting Oklahoma families, farmers, and our energy heritage from an aggressive, federally subsidized industrial invasion.

Proud to stand with Oklahomans, Representative Jim Shaw and Representative Molly Jenkins.

Thursday, March 5, we had fantastic evening at the Annual Tecumseh Chamber of Commerce Auction!

Executive Director Kimberly Elliott and the volunteers made it all happen. The room buzzed with energy from start to finish and was packed with incredible auction items. We enjoyed great food and connected with our neighbors, families, and business owners.

Best of all, the space was filled with people who genuinely love our community. We are thankful to Katie and Colton McMahan from the Athletico Physical Therapy clinic for hosting us at their table and for sharing their delicious Hobbit Cake with us. We also had the pleasure of meeting the bright, poised, and impressive Avery Renken, our current Miss Frontier Days—a shining example of the talent and heart our community nurtures.
