(UUIC) is funded by the United States Department of Labor to provide employment and job training opportunities to eligible American Indians and Native Americans who live in Oklahoma County. elp get Americans, including youth and those with significant barriers to employment, into high-quality jobs and careers and help employers hire and retain skilled workers. Occupational Skills Training (OST): Assistance with tuition, books, and fees related to training in high demand occupation areas available thru higher education, state technology centers and community colleges. The emphases is on areas of study that prepare participants to obtain employment upon completion of training. GED: Assistance provided to participants enrolled in a GED program. Support includes assistance with testing and preparation fees, study materials and transportation. Employment Services: Available to participants seeking assistance in obtaining full-time permanent employment. This is achieved thru assisting participants with job search, resume development, interview preparation, career exploration, work based learning, supportive services and job referrals. Youth Program: Offers services to eligible young adults ages 14-24. Each participant will undergo an initial assessment of academic skills, career interests and employment and training needs. Program goals are to provide young adults an opportunity to improve employability skills. Services include assessment, career counseling, training assistance, employment services, work experience, entrepreneurship workshops, GED assistance, etc.
