Children's Services Council of Okeechobee Provides funds to help kids reach their full potential through prevention and intervention programs

Organizations requesting RFP's from the Children's Services Council of Okeechobee must attend a mandatory meeting on March 12, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The meeting will be held in the Okeechobee County School Board District Offices, room 303. RFP packets will be emailed after the meeting. The deadline for submission is April 23, 2026.

Summer grants for camps are now available.
Summer Activity Mini grants are available for Okeechobee County organizations for children ages 0-18.
The form can be requested by emailing Toni Wiersma at [email protected]. Agencies must provide a summer program request on the correct form. They can receive the form from the Children’s Service Council starting immediately. All summer requests must be received by Friday, March 6, 2026, at 4:00 pm. Please either email at the above address (preferable) or deliver to Toni Wiersma at the Okeechobee County School Board Offices, Room 102. This year there is approximately $400,000.00 available for funding.
A decision will be made about funding recommendations at the Council during their next scheduled meeting on March 12, 2026. Agencies will know if they have been funded and for what amount after the meeting.

During two Saturdays in December law enforcement officers gathered together at Walmart for the annual "Shop with a Cop" event. The Children's Services Council of Okeechobee was proud to be one of the sponsors for the event. This event helps to provide students with gifts at Christmas.

We are extremely honored and grateful for the Children's Services Council of Okeechobee's support of our Head Start Centers in Okeechobee!

This new partnership is going to help 126 young children (who live in Okeechobee) receive high-quality early childhood education, health screenings, and wrap-around support services.
