The Support Center (El Centro de Apoyo)

The Support Center (El Centro de Apoyo) Vision:
To make a safe confidential and inclusive environment that is supportive educational and empowering too all.

The Support Center seeks to help victims of crime throughout Okanogan County, (i.e., domestic violence, sexual assault, and any other crime) by providing many services to these individuals and families free of charge. Some services we provide are:

24/7 Crisis Hotline
Crisis Intervention
Support Groups
Emergency Shelter
Personal Advocacy Based Counseling
Medical & Legal Advocacy
Emergency Financia

l Assistance
System Coordination
Outreach & Awareness
Community Organizing
Prevention Education
Safety Planning

The Support Center has been providing these services and more since 1978, over the years we have been able to get some funding through the state and federal grants that are available, though they have strict spending guidelines, and we rely on fundraising opportunities to assist with the cost of some services that our grants cannot cover. We rely on our fundraising opportunities such as:

Shamrocks -4- Safety - March
Wine Women & Purses - October
Direct monetary donations - All year
In-kind donations - All year

These fundraising opportunities help us get some extra funding to continue supporting the important work we do for those in our community who need it most. Our Mission:
The Support Center is comprised of people dealing with the concerns of battered individuals, sexual assault, and general crime victims and their families. We oppose the use of violence as a means of control over others. We support equality in relationships and the concept of helping people assume power over their own lives. Our Vision:

According to the American Counseling Association, there are more than 15 million children living in homes in which domestic violence has happened at least once. These children are at greater risk for developing mental health issues, repeating cycles of abuse, or becoming a perpetrator of abuse.

New Hope offers counseling services for children aged 5-18. Child counseling services focus on healthy relationships, boundary setting, managing emotions, and more. Children affected by domestic or sexual violence can find support at New Hope with one of our advocates.
