AS POWER OUTAGES CONTINUE... we find it important to pause with GRATITUDE. 🙏

Oh, how thankful we can be for - no casualties from such a powerful storm... the reminder of just how many modern conveniences we have become dependent upon... and our amazing Mountain community. It takes a village, and we are truly blessed to see neighbors helping neighbors - like it should be!! If you have a need during this time, please reach out so we can help one another along.

PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN RUNNING ANY GENERATORS OR EXTENTION CORDS!!, check in on elderly neighbors and those with disabilities/ medical conditions, REMAIN CALM AND PATIENT KNOWING THAT THERE ARE MANY OTHERS IN THE SAME SITUATION AS YOU RIGHT NOW, remember it is a blessing that this is temporary & will pass, AND ABOVE ALL ELSE- PLEASE BE SAFE AND KIND OUT THERE. ❤️. An ocean can only rise as one, we are all in this together. 💧💦🌊

Today is International Firefighters' Day. A day the we take a moment to celebrate and recognize the brave men and women who run toward danger 24 hours a day without thought.
At The Ohiopyle-Stewart V.F.D., we rely on our officers and members to keep our community safe. And, the 1 million plus visitors that travel through and visit the Ohiopyle State Park every year. But, we can not do it alone. We are a 100% volunteer department, relying heavily on fundraising and donations from the visitors. Every fire, vehicle accident, water rescue, physical rescue, or medical emergency we respond to costs money. We are grateful for all the support we receive day in and day out!! It is with a heavy heart that the Ohiopyle-Stewart Volunteer Fire Company announces the passing of past chief, engineer and longtime member, Sam (Speed) Dean. The OSVFD can not be defined without the legacy that Sam leaves behind. As a Chief, a firefighter, and as a mentor to so many through the years. His commitment and dedication to the fire service and to his community will always be remembered. Please keep the Dean family in you r thought and prayers. Sam will be missed, but never forgotten.
