I am running for the Board of Trustees at Illinois Valley Community College on April 4, 2023, and I would appreciate your vote! I was born and raised in Southern Illinois and attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIU-C), where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communication with a concentration in Public Relations and Event Planning. e husband, Mike Stevenson, a lifelong Ottawan. After graduation from SIU-C, I moved to Ottawa and have now lived in the Illinois Valley for almost 28 years. For the past 24 years, I have worked alongside my husband and father-in-law as co-owner and operator of Stevenson Transfer, a household and commercial moving and storage company with a distribution warehouse in Ottawa. My husband and I are fourth-generation business owners and have worked hard to uphold the integrity and success of our 115-year run in the Illinois Valley. Mike and I are also the proud parents of 23-year-old Jack, an Electronics Technician in the Navy, and 20-year-old Bridget, a junior at the University of Illinois studying Environmental Science and Business.
