Today, the Oglesby Police Department remembers and honors all those whose lives were taken on September 11, 2001.
We remember the innocent men, women, and children who never made it home to their families. We remember the first responders who courageously entered the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the crash site in Pennsylvania to help others—many making the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.
We honor the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, EMTs, and other first responders who answered the call without hesitation. Their courage and selflessness will forever be a part of our nation's history.
Most importantly, we remember the thousands of lives lost and the families, friends, and communities forever changed by that day.
From those who served to those they served, every life mattered, every sacrifice matters, and every name deserves to be remembered.
Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor their memory.
We remember. We honor. We will never forget.
