Today we’re remembering Uintah, one of the sweetest ferrets to ever call Ogden Nature Center home. πŸ’š

Uintah came to us after being found abandoned in Cedar City. When she was rescued, she was severely dehydrated, had lost all her fur, and was fighting for her life. Thanks to the care of animal shelter staff, our veterinary team, and a healthy diet, she made an incredible recovery and soon grew into a beloved animal ambassador.

She never bit or scratched, loved curling up on staff members’ laps, and was rarely far from her favorite crinkly "cat sack," often peeking out while being carried around the center. Outside, Uintah was pure joy. She loved rolling in the grass and then racing around with playful energy, always seeming to invite her caretakers to join the fun.

After her remarkable recovery, Uintah began appearing at outreach programs where she quickly became a favorite with visitors of all ages. She brought smiles wherever she went and reminded us all of the resilience of animals and the power of compassion.
Thank you, Uintah, for the joy, laughter, and love you shared with our community.

✨ You were truly one of a kind. ✨
