Our little explorers took learning outside today on the WSU Discovery Trail! 🌿🔎🍃

Students observed the world around them through hands-on exploration as they noticed plant diversity, listened to the sounds of nature, engaged their senses, and shared observations about the beautiful environment surrounding our campus. From mountain views to living things interacting with their surroundings, every step became a learning opportunity.

One of the many advantages of being a university lab school on a college campus is access to authentic, real-world learning experiences like this! 💜

At the WSU Charter Academy, learning goes beyond the classroom walls through movement, observation, exploration, and discovery.

🦖✨ It was Mrs. Yeates’ favorite day… DINOSAUR DAY! ✨🦕

Our little learners stomped out syllables like dinosaurs, explored fossils like paleontologists, described dinosaurs using amazing adjectives, and even dug into learning about the rock cycle! 🌋🪨📚

Hands-on learning, imagination, movement, and curiosity filled every corner of the classroom today. We love watching our students learn through play, exploration, and wonder. At the end of the day, they celebrated by receiving a certificate and treat from a dinosaur!!! 💜

We currently have 9 spaces available for incoming first graders or families interested in a possible K/1 split classroom experience! Rhythm, Reach, and Resilience! 🥁

What a vibrant week in Kindergarten at Weber State University Charter Academy! Our students returned from spring break ready to learn, connect, and grow.

This week, we were thrilled to welcome Weber State’s Arts Outreach program into our classroom. Students explored rhythm, steady beats, timbre, and tempo using drums while building important fine arts skills. The excitement, confidence, and joy on their faces said it all!

A huge thank you to Weber State for the generous drum donation to our classroom. These instruments will continue to support creativity, self-expression, and hands-on learning all year long.

At WSU Charter Academy, learning goes far beyond worksheets. Our students benefit from small class sizes, strong relationships, hands-on experiences, and unique partnerships with Weber State University that bring learning to life.

At Weber State University Charter Academy, learning comes alive through hands-on experiences, small class sizes, and meaningful connections.

This week, our students practiced consonant digraphs in literacy, built number sense through counting and sorting, and explored the outdoors as young scientists. They observed plants, compared sun and shade, collected simple data, and even brought home a special plant from the greenhouse to care for.

Across all of our learning, students were discovering patterns in words, numbers, nature, and the world around them. It has been so exciting to watch them make connections, share their thinking, and grow in confidence every day.
