Each month, we'll be sending out a reminder of which days are free for the month (a great idea from one of our local businesses). As a reminder, all state holidays and Sundays are free to park in Ogden's downtown and enforcement is from 8am to 8pm.
Don't want to pay?
There are options.
Drivers can still find free parking throughout Ogden's downtown.

Innovation is happening in Ogden.
We recently stopped by Murphy Door, a company headquartered right here in Ogden that has grown from a local startup into the largest designer and manufacturer of hidden doors in America, now shipping its products across the country.

Founded in 2012 by Roy native and former firefighter and paramedic Jeremy Barker, Murphy Door started just behind Newgate Mall and has since grown into multiple locations and a nationally recognized brand.

Jeremy was recently named Utah Business’ CEO of the Year, a well-deserved recognition of the leadership and innovation behind the company’s growth.

Thank you to Jeremy and Spencer Bowen for showing us around and sharing more about the work happening at Murphy Door. It’s exciting to see a company with deep Ogden roots continue to grow, innovate and create right here in our community.

We’re excited to see what comes next.

We kicked off Economic Development’s downtown parking review meetings with a candid and productive conversation with Leigh and Kirk Dean at Warrens Craft Burger. We’re grateful for their time, perspective and feedback. We’re grateful for their time, perspective and feedback. They’re offering $10.99 burgers this month and offering validation for the first hour.

We’re a little over two months into Ogden’s new paid parking system and we want to hear directly from the businesses experiencing it every day-- what’s working, where there’s confusion and what can be improved.

And we’re already putting that feedback into action.
One of the first things you’ll see is additional parking signage along 25th Street, Electric Alley and Kiesel Avenue to make it easier for customers to know where they can park, what it costs and how to pay.

Behind Electric Alley, for example, city-owned parking stalls are marked with white lines, while stalls owned by the Marriott Hotel are marked in yellow.

New signage will help make that distinction clearer and direct customers to the city-owned parking, where the rate is $1 per hour.

♿ Vehicles displaying a valid disability parking placard or plate may park in any city-managed paid parking space at no charge for two hours.

There’s still more feedback to hear and more work to do. Economic Development staff will continue meeting with downtown businesses in the coming weeks as we review the first months of the system and identify opportunities for improvement.

If you’re a downtown business owner and would like to schedule a time for Economic Development staff to stop by, email [email protected] and we’ll get you scheduled.

📢Downtown Parking Update: New Signage & Business Engagement

As Ogden’s paid parking continues into its second month, new parking signage will begin going up downtown to make parking regulations and payment options clearer for visitors, employees and businesses.

We’re sharing several maps of planned sign locations so businesses and the community can see where signage will be installed and understand what to expect as this next phase moves forward.

At the same time, Ogden City Economic Development staff are reaching out to downtown businesses to schedule time to meet and hear directly about how the parking system is operating so far-- what’s going well, what's not, what questions remain and where there may be opportunities to improve.

Business feedback matters. The goal is to make sure parking supports a downtown that works for businesses, residents and visitors alike. These conversations will help staff evaluate the system based on real experiences as we move forward.

📧 Businesses will receive an email TODAY with additional information and an invitation to schedule a conversation with EcoDev staff.

We’ll continue sharing updates as we learn more and make adjustments based on what we hear from the downtown community.
