A NOTICE TO WASHINGTON TERRACE RESIDENTS:

There has been an unidentified individual going door to door requesting to enter homes to take water samples. This individual is NOT a representative of Washington Terrace City. The City has no need to gather water samples or test water pressure from individual homes. Do not let this individual in your house or give them anything.

Deputies are providing extra patrols in the area to locate the individual. If you notice anything suspicious, or this individual comes to your home please call Weber Dispatch at 801-395-8221.

When it comes to emergencies, how prepared are you and your family? We have put together a one stop shop with endless resources and tools you need to empower your home.

👍🏼Weber County Emergency Management and Homeland Security Office are hosting the first ever Self Reliance and Safety Fair October 7th & 8th.

🟡Services and vendors will all gather at the Golden Spike Event Center to bring you a wealth of knowledge in the following areas:

✅Emergency Preparedness
✅Smart Financial Preparation
✅Mental/Physical Preparedness and Resiliency
✅Emotional/Spiritual Preparedness and Resiliency
✅Safety Knowledge and Disaster Prevention

Presentations will be given both days from numerous organizations with topics such as:

❗️Survival skills
❗️Suicide prevention
❗️Financial organization
❗️Food storage and preservation
❗️Teaching children resiliency
❗️And SO MUCH MORE!

🛑The American Red Cross will also be doing a blood drive on behalf of the Sheriff’s Office both days and are taking sign ups right now. Simply scan the QR Code in this post and secure your spot!

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦This is an event for the whole family and certainly one you won’t want to miss! Come enjoy food and beverages from local food trucks as well as FREE ADMISSION. Build the safety and resiliency in your home for generations to come.

2. Lock your car & trunk and roll up all the windows.
3. Lock your house doors, windows, gates and garage
4. Turn on exterior lights on your house.

HEAT WARNINGS IN WEBER COUNTY:

Weber County will experience triple digit temps in the coming days. We will be providing “Cooling Zones” during extreme “Heat Warnings”.  This warning may be issued by the National Weather Service under the condition of a heat index of 105 °F or greater that will last for 2 hours or more.

Weber County Emergency Managers encourage everyone, particularly older individuals, to use caution during periods of excessive heat.

COOLING ZONES:

We have designated the following locations as “Cooling Zones” where anyone can go for refuge from high temperature exposure.

Weber County residents, WE NEED YOU! Now is the time when blood donations are needed the most. Donations decrease in the summer months, while the need for blood increases.

Come join us TOMORROW AND TUESDAY (July 11th & 12th) for our Guns vs. Hoses Blood Drive, hosted at the Weber County Sheriff's Office Training Warehouse, 1387 Depot Drive, 12:00pm-6:00pm each day.
