Alabama Power has notified the City of upcoming work along Sanie Road.

On Thursday, June 11, weather permitting, Alabama Power distribution crews plan to take a scheduled outage so transmission crews can pull ropes between structures 17 and 29. Affected customers have been notified by postcard.

Sanie Road will also be blocked between Smith Drive and Brookhaven Drive on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14 while the transmission line crew continues work in the area.

Emergency access will remain available. Crews will be able to temporarily clear the roadway for emergency personnel if needed.

Please plan ahead, use caution near the work area and watch for crews and equipment. Thank you for your patience while this work is completed.

Join us as we celebrate Juneteenth and come together as one community!

On Friday, June 19, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM, the City of Margaret will host a Juneteenth Community Celebration on Jeffrey Wilson Drive featuring hot dogs, chips, drinks, family activities and an opportunity to spend time with friends, neighbors and fellow residents.

Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our nation’s history, celebrate freedom and recognize the importance of community. We invite everyone to bring a lawn chair, enjoy the afternoon and help us continue building a stronger Margaret together.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Congratulations to Martrece Bell on graduating from Leadership St. Clair.

Leadership St. Clair is one of the best programs available for learning what makes St. Clair County strong, where our opportunities are and what resources are already within arm’s reach. Programs like this help local leaders see the county from a broader perspective, build relationships across communities and bring good ideas back home.

Martrece, thank you for investing your time in this program and for continuing to grow as a leader. Margaret benefits when people step forward, learn more and look for ways to help move our community forward.

Congratulations again on this well-earned accomplishment.
