📢Message from the Mashkiiziibii Agindaasoowigamig - Bad River Library📢
September's Book Club meeting is Saturday, September 26 at 10AM here at the library! Very pleased to announce that author Robin Greenfield will be joining us for the meeting, so bring your books to be signed and questions to be asked. This is the day after the documentary screenings on September 25th at the Bay Theater (more details on Greenfield Poster attached).

There is still time to pick up Food Freedom, and the kids book Be The Change. Copies are available by the library's free bookshelf, and at Food Sovereignty.

For October, we are reading Never Whistle at Night Part II: Back for Blood. This is a collection of Indigenous horror stories.
Two Ojibwe authors from the anthology, Kimberly Blaeser and Shaawan Francis Keahna will be joining us for a special event on Monday, October 5th. You can start signing up for book club and pick up now, especially if you would like to have some stories done before our author event. You do not need to read the first Never Whistle at Night before you read Back for Blood, but if you would like to check that out, that is also an option.
If you are not into the scary stuff, we will catch you back at book club in November!

Library hours for the rest of the week:
W 9/16 (today!) open until 5
Th 9/17 open 11-5
F 9/18 open 11-5
S 9/19 open 10-1 and it is International Talk Like a Pirate Day

Please note that I will be out 9/20-9/25 for a conference, so book pickup may be tricky that week.

đź’™Investing in ways to invest in our kidđź’™

Club Director Paige and Grant Writer Beth were awarded a scholarship from Boys & Girls Club of America Native Services to join a gathering of 14 Native Clubs in Albuquerque, New Mexico, sharpening their skills in resource development so Bad River can keep growing. Along the way, they connected with Lorraine Orr, Executive Vice President & Chief Operations Officer for Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Every skill they bring home turns into more opportunities for our youth.
