Congratulations to Mrs. Rebecca Pylant! She applied for the Farm Bureau Grant, "Ag in the Classroom" and was awarded $500 for her classroom. Mrs. Pylant plans to use this grant to help her students learn about plant parts and needs through hands-on experience with raised bed gardens. Thank you for always going above and beyond to make learning fun for your students.

Irwin County Elementary School Chief of the Week!

Mrs.Martin consistently brings a valuable perspective to the table by representing the teacher lens in conversations about changes. She thoughtfully raises questions and identifies potential challenges that may arise during implementation, helping administration consider the impact on our teachers and students. Her willingness to speak up and share her perspective makes our decisions stronger and ultimately makes us better as a team. Mrs. Martin, you make us better!

This Friday, September 4, will be a virtual learning day for I.C.E.S. students. Teachers will hold prescheduled conferences with parents and guardians on this day as well. Thank you for keeping your student at home on Sept. 4 so that we may collaborate with parents more effectively. Conference times were scheduled by your child's teacher.

Update: Lockdown Drill is complete and normal activities have resumed.

ALL Irwin County Schools are currently conducting a lockdown drill as part of our ongoing school safety procedures.

This is only a drill. There is NO threat or danger to our students or staff.

This drill includes participation from local law enforcement and EMS personnel.

We appreciate your cooperation as we practice our emergency procedures to help ensure the safety of our school community.

Irwin County Elementary School will celebrate Shaved Ice Day on August 28, and students will be able to purchase a cold treat for $5.00. Shaved ice will be great on a hot day, and the proceeds help support the school's PBIS program.
