Irwin County Elementary School would like to thank the Irwin EMC for the Operation Round Up grant they graciously provided to our school library to purchase books for our students. Our principal, Mrs. Rontee Barnes, and our librarian, Mrs. Christie Copeland, are pictured.

Thank you to Irwin EMC for keeping the lights on in our homes and in our children's minds. This gift is greatly appreciated!

Irwin County Elementary School is proud to celebrate Mrs. Rontee Barnes for Principal's Appreciation Month!

We are grateful for the grace, heart, and integrity Mrs. Barnes shows as she leads us with a "Tradition of Pride, Future of Excellence!"

As part of her recognition, we "tested" Mrs. Barnes to see how well she knows her staff members. Can she identify us with her chair turned around, just from our voices?

Irwin County Goes Cashless!

Community Reminder!!

Irwin County Elementary will hold a Read-A-Thon this year!

Read-A-Thons get your reader excited about reading with no cost to them, and they give friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.

Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday November 9, 2026.

About one week before our Read-A-Thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you can view and record their progress and track any prizes they earn.

We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child added excitment about reading, and everyone can take part. We will also have a traditional book fair in the spring.

We hope EVERYONE participates and we are excited to watch our leaderboard grow!

Thank you in advance for supporting our school's library collection and AR program! Your support helps our readers and future leaders.

I.C.E.S. educators are “Nacho Average” teachers! To celebrate all the hard work, dedication, and care they have poured into the first nine weeks, the ICES administrative staff hosted a Nacho Bar for educators.

From planning meaningful lessons to supporting students and building relationships, educators' efforts make a difference every day. The admin team appreciates the teamwork and commitment educators bring to ICES and was excited to treat them to a well-deserved thank-you!

Thank you to our educators for helping us carry forward our Tradition of Pride, Future of Excellence, and Happy Hispanic Heritage Month from the I.C.E.S. administration!
