Vehicle vs construction worker (pedestrian) this morning, he's in critical condition. Prayers sent for him, his co-workers and family. Please be careful driving, always be alert to your surroundings, just one short mistake could be life changing.

Tonight, members of the Iwrin County Fire Department trained on the Incident Command System (ICS), focusing on scene organization, communication, accountability, and effective emergency management. Training like this helps ensure our personnel are prepared to handle incidents safely and efficiently while working together under a unified command structure. Continuous training keeps our team ready to serve and protect our community at the highest level.
We were also given laptops from State Farm (thank you, Chris Allan Paulk). Hopefully, we can use these to benefit the dept and the community if we can get a few things approved.

🔥 Update: South Georgia Burn Restrictions Eased

Governor Kemp has issued an executive order easing outdoor burning restrictions in parts of South Georgia.

While this is a step in the right direction, burning is still restricted in 17 South Georgia counties, as shown on the map below. These areas continue to face extreme drought and elevated wildfire risk.

⚠️ What to know:
➡️ Some counties are now allowed to resume limited outdoor burning
➡️ Others remain under restrictions due to ongoing fire danger
➡️ Conditions can change quickly—always check before you burn

Even where restrictions have been eased, extreme caution is still critical. Dry conditions remain across much of the state, and it only takes one spark to start a wildfire.
