On 11/13/2023 a collaboration between the South Central Drug Task Force, the Georgia Department of Agriculture, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, the Irwin County Sheriff’s Office, GPSTC Police, and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation led to the arrest of two individuals found to be in possession of trafficking amounts of suspected Methamphetamine and trafficking amounts of suspected fentanyl. Jimmie Frank Drummond 42, and Kiala Murray 30, were taken into custody in the later hours of the afternoon, on the East Side of Irwin County. The duo was found to be in possession of over 2960.1 grams, 104 ounces or over 6 pounds of the crystal like substance (crystal methamphetamine), and 20.41 grams of suspected fentanyl. A set of digital scales in working order, packaging materials, and over 10k in U.S. currency were seized in the case. The investigation revealed that these large amounts of Illegal drugs were being distributed within multiple counties in South Georgia. The case is a huge success for the rural Irwin community and the citizens that live within. The citizens that reside here don’t want your poison in our streets. This case marks the largest Methamphetamine bust in Irwin County history.
