OUSD has once again looking out for their interest and has forgotten what is best for our students! They have proposed to merge 2 lower income latin schools! Libby Elementary and Del Rio! It has been said many times that in order for a student to achieve academic success, their emotional needs must be met and this school year will bear the challenge to repair what has been missing for almost two years. The growth our students will make this year will become the catalyst for a steady incline of academic achievement. However, the proposed transition of SurfSide Academy and Del Rio will impede this development and punish children who have no say in grown-up affairs. The increase in class sizes will diminish positive student-teacher relationships and instead increase an already overflowing cup of teacher responsibilities. It really is truly baffling how our educators are expected to stand by and watch ill decisions play out, but what is more incomprehensible is how this district is treating our children by placing their needs second to the construction of a building. OUSD’s mission: America's hope for the future passes through our doors should be amended to America’s future passes through these doors elbow to elbow hoping not to trip.

First, all of our District programs can be accessed through the OUSD portal at https://portal.oside.us. Here is a short video tutorial to access Rapid Id from any device via OUSD website.

KPBS 2 is providing 12 hours of free state standards-aligned television programming.
6am to 8am: Grades TK-3rd
8am to 1pm:Grades 4-8
1pm-6pm: grades 9-12
Students do not need to access the internet to watch. Tune into KPBS 2 with an antenna at channel 15.2, on Cox 811, or Spectrum 1277.
