Exactly 55 years ago today, Acadian Ambulance began operations in Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, with three young cofounders, two ambulances, and eight medics.

Today, Acadian Companies is a multi-faceted company with more than 6,000 employee-owners providing medical, safety, transportation, security, and educational services across eight divisions.

After a competitive bid process, Acadian Ambulance has been selected to provide 911 emergency response services for George County, Mississippi. 💚

Acadian Ambulance has operated in Mississippi since 2000, when it began providing service to Jackson County. In 2024, Acadian began providing service to Harrison County and the cities of D’Iberville, Long Beach and Pass Christian.

“While we are proud of our reach and depth, we are also proud to be local. As the EMS provider to Jackson County for the past 25 years, Acadian has a direct connection to George County. 14 of our current team members live in George County and are looking forward to providing service in their home region,” said Acadian Ambulance President Justin Back.
