A day on the golf course. A tradition with a much bigger story behind it. ⛳️

Last week, we headed to Ocean City Golf & Yacht Club for the annual OCDC Art Davis Memorial Golf Tournament.

The tournament is named in memory of Art Davis, one of OCDC’s founding members and a longtime president of the Bank of Ocean City. Art was part of OCDC from its earliest days, helping lay the groundwork for an organization that continues working to strengthen and revitalize Downtown Ocean City today.

So while the tournament is a chance to get out of the office, enjoy a beautiful course and have a little friendly competition, it has always been about something bigger.

It brings together the businesses, organizations and people who continue to invest in this community and raises funds that help OCDC continue its work Downtown.

We had a great day, took a lot of pictures and have a lot of people to thank.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to introduce you to some of the businesses and people who helped make this year’s tournament possible.

The former Carroll Fuels station near the Route 50 Bridge has been transformed into the new Carroll Market, with more than $800,000 in private investment.

OCDC contributed $22,000 toward more than $200,000 in exterior improvements, including new siding, masonry, windows, doors, roofing, canopies and more.

A 59-year-old property. A whole new life. And another investment in Downtown Ocean City.

Some people don’t just love Downtown Ocean City. They help shape it.

At OCDC’s 2026 Annual Awards, Nancy L. Howard received the Downtown Advocate Award for a lifetime of showing up for this community.

From a career in public service to years of volunteer work supporting the arts, culture and underserved communities, Nancy’s impact can be found throughout Ocean City.

Most recently, she’s been helping preserve a piece of downtown history through the restoration of the Henry Hotel.

This award celebrates more than one project. It celebrates a person who has spent years believing in downtown, investing in it and working to make it better.

Congratulations, Nancy. Downtown is better because you’ve been part of its story.
