🇺🇸 Labor Day Weekend at Open Arms Village! 🇺🇸

We are incredibly grateful for our faithful volunteers who have continued to pour into Open Arms Village year after year.

A special thank-you to Mark and Jean Imes, who has faithfully spearheaded so much of the support our residents have received over the years, Mark also serves as our Open Arms Village Board Chair, for their continued commitment, encouragement, and generosity toward our ministry.

This Labor Day weekend, our residents were blessed with some really good barbecue and plenty of good food! There is something special about sitting around a table, sharing a meal, building relationships, and reminding our men that they are supported and cared for.

We don’t take any of this for granted. Every volunteer, every meal, every donation, every prayer, and every act of kindness plays a part in what God is doing through Open Arms Village.

We are truly grateful for God’s faithfulness and for the incredible people He continues to place in our path to help carry out this ministry.

But there is so much more happening behind the scenes! Our newsletter is a great way to stay connected and see how Open Arms Village is changing lives, building stronger communities, and providing hope and opportunity for individuals in recovery.

Today, we celebrate our newest Open Arms Village graduate, Larry!

From day one of his acceptance into the program, Larry stepped up and took on a leadership role within the Open Arms Village community. He has worked hard, challenged himself, and consistently demonstrated what it means to take recovery seriously.

Larry has not only held himself accountable, but has also been willing to hold those around him accountable—leading by example and encouraging others to stay focused on their own recovery.

We are incredibly proud of the progress Larry has made and the man he continues to become. His journey is far from over, and we are excited to see what comes next!

As Larry graduates from Open Arms Village, he will be transitioning into The Nest Recovery Residence, where he will continue building on the foundation he has worked so hard to establish.

Congratulations, Larry! Your Open Arms Village family is proud of you. Keep leading, keep growing, and most importantly—keep moving forward!

On September 15th and 16th, Open Arms Village is asking our community to come together and Give for Marion.

Every day, men and women in our community struggle with mental health and substance use issues, homelessness, and the challenges of rebuilding their lives. At Open Arms Village, we work to provide the support, structure, transitional housing, and resources they need to move forward in recovery and become self-sufficient.

We are proud to do this work right here in Ocala and Marion County, helping individuals find stability, employment, accountability, and hope for a better future.

Your support can make a real difference. Whether you donate, share our mission, or simply help spread the word, you are helping Open Arms Village continue providing a safe place and a path toward recovery for those who need it most.

We’re putting the finishing touches on our Open Arms Village Women’s Program at Compassion Methodist Church here in Ocala, Florida!

It was an incredible day having Mayor Ben Marciano and the senior clinical team from SMA Healthcare — Jeremiah Alberico and Megan Huff— come out to lend their support. Their partnership, encouragement, and commitment to our mission mean so much to us.

We are also truly grateful for our Open Arms Village Board and their continued dedication, especially Jill Beck, Harvey Vandeven, and Susie Kuhn. Your support helps make this vision a reality.

Opening our Women’s Program has been a long time coming — and honestly, it is well overdue. We are excited to soon provide women in our community with a safe, supportive environment where they can heal, rebuild, and create a new path forward.

The wait is almost over. The best is yet to come!

Today, we celebrate an incredible milestone for one of our Open Arms Village residents, Blake!

Blake has recently phased up in Drug Court and obtained his Florida driver’s license—two tremendous accomplishments that reflect his hard work, dedication, and commitment to recovery.

Blake continues to put in the work every single day, not only to better himself, but also to encourage and support others on their recovery journey. His perseverance, humility, and willingness to serve are a testament to the power of recovery and what is possible when individuals remain committed to positive change.

We are extremely proud of Blake and all that he has accomplished. Please join us in congratulating him as he continues to build a strong foundation for his future. The best is yet to come!

Today, we proudly celebrate our most recent Open Arms Village graduate, Linwood!

Linwood has been an outstanding example within the Open Arms Village community. Through his hard work, leadership, perseverance, and unwavering faith in God, he has demonstrated what recovery and transformation can look like.

As Linwood transitions to St. Mark’s Sober House, we are excited to watch him continue to prosper and grow. He has been a leader among his peers, a dedicated worker, and a man committed to his recovery journey and his relationship with the Lord.

Congratulations, Linwood! Thank you for the positive impact you’ve made on our community. We are proud of all you have accomplished and look forward to seeing what God has in store for your future.

Today, we celebrate the power of community and the incredible generosity that continues to make a difference at Open Arms Village.

A special thank you to Roger Waddell and the American 250 Gala for their continued support of our mission to provide hope, recovery, and opportunity to the men we serve. Your commitment to our community is truly inspiring.

We would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Coca-Cola of Ocala for their generous donation of 20 mountain bikes to the residents of Open Arms Village! These bikes provide our residents with greater independence, transportation to work and appointments, and another step toward rebuilding their lives.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our mission. Together, we are changing lives—one person, one opportunity, and one act of kindness at a time.

Your dedication, perseverance, and commitment to your recovery journey have paid off. The hard work you’ve put in to create a healthier and more purposeful life is something worth celebrating.

Recovery is not just about overcoming challenges—it’s about embracing opportunities for growth, accountability, and lasting change. Michael, you have demonstrated all of those qualities, and we are excited to see what the future holds for you.
