(OBERLIN, LA) – On February 14, 2026, the Oberlin Police Department and the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating a fatal, hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 14-year-old juvenile from Oberlin. The juvenile was crossing US Highway 165 at 5th Avenue, on an electric bicycle, when he was struck and killed. Witnesses arrived on scene, and the suspect vehicle was not present.

During the investigation, law enforcement located and reviewed several camera systems in the immediate area of the crash. During this search, Detectives have identified a vehicle of interest and are requesting the public’s help in identifying the vehicle owner and/or driver.

The vehicle is a white, dually style truck pulling a 3-axle, gooseneck horse trailer. The horse trailer is open throughout and has no tarp on top.

(OBERLIN, LA) – On February 14, 2026, the Oberlin Police Department and the Allen Parish Sheriff’s Office began investigating a fatal, hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a 14-year-old juvenile from Oberlin. The Allen Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in reference to two 2024 Kubota Zero Turn mowers, orange and black in color, 60 inch cut and a 2023 double axle 18 foot Trailer, black in color.

These items were stolen from the Oakdale City Barn on, or about July 29, 2025.

On March 15, 2024 @ 12:03 pm, the following suspect Attempted to Rob La Capital Credit Union in Oakdale, Louisiana of off Highway 165 South.

The Suspect then ran from the Credit Union, got into a Grey F250 Truck and went South on Highway 165.

Please contact the Allen Parish Crime Stoppers(337-389-7001), Oakdale Police Department(318-335-0290) 0r the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office with any information identifying the Suspect of this crime.

The Allen Parish Sheriffs Office is currently investigating multiple cases of 'smash and grab', residential burglaries that occurred on January 11, 2024, one happen off Highway 112 in Elizabeth, La while the home owners were at work. There were two more residents broke into in north Oakdale, La off of Green Field Lane. On January 28, 2024 another resident was broke into on Highway 372(Ballard Road) Oakdale, La. The home owner stated that they left their residence on January 23, 2024 around 3:30 pm and when they returned on January 28, 2024 at around 4:30 pm, their house had been broke into. The home owners of all residential break ins are reporting the same items, Jewelry, collector coins and money stolen. If anyone has seen anything suspicious, people or vehicles in these area, please contact the Sheriffs Office at 337-639-4353 or Crime Stoppers at 337-389-7001.

The Allen Parish Sheriffs Office is currently investigating multiple cases of 'smash and grab', residential burglaries that occurred today, while the property owners were away. The suspects have been described as two black males in a dark colored sedan. Allen Parish Sheriff's Office is currently investigating the theft of a 20-foot utility trailer along with two green Honda ATVs and a blue Honda ATV from the Oberlin area.

Pictured below are the items stolen along with photos of the suspects. The photos of the suspects depict three individuals of the four that committed the crime.

Allen Parish Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward for information leading to the identity and arrest of the suspects involved.

ALLEN PARISH CRIME STOPPERS IS SEEKING INFORMATION ON THE FOLLOWING:

Auto/Pedestrian Hit and Run

Oakdale, La. (November 10,
2022) –A 46-year-old man was struck and seriously injured in a traffic accident Thursday night on LA-10.

At approximately 11:18 pm., Oakdale Police officers responded to a report of a pedestrian on LA-10. Investigation revealed Carl Buxton 46, from Oakdale had been struck and Seriously injured by a vehicle travelling on LA-10. The driver of this vehicle failed to stop and fled the scene.

On October 21, @ 04.22 am, the Allen Parish Sheriff's Office received a call from a concern citizen stating that a white truck with two people in the vehicle had attempted to break into the ATM machine located in front of the Oberlin Court House, located on the corner of Main Street and 5th Street.

The concern citizen turned around and the vehicle took off with the chain still attached to the vehicle. The vehicle came to a stop on 5th avenue and both of the suspects took off on foot, running north behind the Oberlin Football Field.

The suspects are described as two black males, skinny, unknown height and age, one wearing a yellow hoodie and the other wearing a black hoodie.

The suspects may be from the Oakdale area because the 2000 Ford F150 they were driving was stolen from the Oakdale area before the incident occurred.

Anyone with any information leading to the arrest of the suspects, can earn a cash reward.
