PSA: The tow companies in the surrounding areas are inundated with calls right now. With all of the rain we are getting, the roads are becoming extremely muddy in spots out in the county. Please try to stay on the pavement as much as possible. Of course I’m not speaking to the local farmers and ranchers. I’m just putting it out there that if you get stuck on a county road, you will be waiting an extended amount of time for a tow! Thank You for your cooperation!

Sappa Lake is full and dangerous today!

This is what Sappa Creek looks like on the South edge of Oberlin! Please stay safe and don’t go in the water! Twenty minutes ago there were children playing in this water! This water will sweep someone away very fast. We do not have immediate swift water rescue equipment!

ATTENTION!!!! If you travel South of US36 or West of US83 in Decatur County, you are doing so at your own risk! With last nights severe weather, we have lots of flooding and roads washed out! The farmers have enough to deal with today without having to rescue stranded motorists! Consider this area to be closed until further notice unless you have agricultural business to tend to in this area. The County does not have enough barricades to close off what we need to. All costs incurred to rescue you, will be paid by you! Thank You for your cooperation!
