Middle Fork Vermilion River Project: Beginning September 14, 2026, a portion of the river south/downstream of Mile Marker #8 will be CLOSED and marked by buoys, float lines and/or signage. This is a streambank stabilization project which will impact 750' of shoreline and 30' into the river, lasting approximately 90 days. During active construction, contractor personnel may hold watercraft for periods of up to 15 minutes or require portage along the left descending bank for public safety.

Middle Fork Equestrian trails and camp have been reopened. Please avoid areas where staff is working still or any areas that could still have standing water.

The River and Sportsman’s have both been reopened.

PSA: The river is closed, Middle Fork campground and horse trails are closed, Redear campground at Kickapoo is closed, Mountain bike trails are closed!!! Areas will reopen as we are able to get them cleaned up and water levels come down.

These were removed from the 18hole Disc Golf course at Kickapoo SRA, across from All Hands Cemetery. Staff was informed that there were more. Please don’t discard nails, trash, ect. in public use areas. There are dumpsters available around the park you can use.
