🏆 Celebrating the 1992–93 Boys Basketball Team! 🏆

Led by Head Coach Doug Schivley, the 1992–93 Oakwood Boys Basketball Team put together one of the most impressive seasons in school history. The team finished 18–3 overall and went a perfect 9–0 in SWBL play, becoming just the second team in league history at the time to finish undefeated.

Ranked No. 1 in the state, the Lumberjacks dominated throughout the season, averaging a 13-point margin of victory in league play and an even higher margin in non-league games. Four starters averaged double figures in scoring, showcasing the depth and firepower of this remarkable team.

The Dayton Daily News called them “the best boys basketball team in Division 3.”

🏀🌎 From Oakwood to the Professional Basketball Court!

Big news for Oakwood alum Darren Rubin! 🎉 Darren has signed a professional basketball contract with Ironi Nahariya in Israel and will soon head overseas to begin this exciting next chapter of his basketball career.

After graduating from Oakwood, Darren continued his basketball journey at Denison University and NYU. Now, he’s taking his talents to the professional level!

Congratulations, Darren! The entire Oakwood community is cheering you on as you take the next step in your basketball journey. We can’t wait to see where it takes you! 🏀🇮🇱

🏆 Celebrating Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee Elise Johnson! 🏆

A 2012 Oakwood High School graduate, Elise Johnson was an exceptional two-sport athlete, earning 7 varsity letters in field hockey and track & field.

On the field hockey pitch, Elise was a three-time First Team All-Ohio selection and an All-American, while also earning a tryout with the U.S. Women’s Field Hockey Association Under-19 National Team. She scored 25 goals as a junior and a remarkable 35 as a senior, becoming Oakwood’s all-time leading goal scorer. Her senior season, she was also honored with the Rae Burick Women in Sports Award as the Miami Valley’s outstanding female athlete and ranked among the nation’s top 20 recruits in the Class of 2012.

Elise continued her career at The Ohio State University, where she was a two-time All-Big Ten and All-West Region selection. Her 36 career goals and 21 assists for 93 points rank her 12th on Ohio State’s all-time career scoring list.

🏆 Celebrating Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee Molly (Schauer) Kash! 🏆

A 1993 graduate, Molly made her mark at Oakwood as an outstanding four-sport athlete, earning 9 varsity letters in soccer, basketball, cross country, and track & field.

She truly excelled in distance running. As a senior, she was named Cross Country Team MVP, SWBL Champion, District Champion, and a Regional Qualifier.

Her Track & Field career was equally remarkable. Named Team MVP as a sophomore and junior, Molly collected league, district, and regional championships, earned multiple state qualifications, and helped lead the 4x800 relay to SWBL, District, and Regional titles in both her sophomore and junior seasons. Her sophomore relay team went on to finish 2nd at State, while her junior team placed 5th.

Individually, Molly captured league and district titles in the 1600 and 3200, advanced to Regionals multiple times, and became a state qualifier in the 1600 and 3200.

From the soccer field and basketball court to the cross country course and track, Molly’s dedication, versatility, and competitive spirit made an unforgettable impact on Oakwood athletics.

⚾🏆 Celebrating 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee: Dan Disher '82!

Dan Disher was a baseball standout at OHS, starting every game at shortstop from his freshman year through graduation, while also contributing as a pitcher when called upon. His senior season, he hit an impressive .420, led the team in home runs and stolen bases, and earned Team MVP and First Team All-League honors.

His accomplishments continued at the University of Michigan, where he earned four baseball letters, before being drafted by the Seattle Mariners in 1986 and playing in their organization through 1988.

We're proud to celebrate Dan's incredible baseball career and his lasting legacy as a Lumberjack! 💙🪓

🏆🏈 Celebrating 2026 Athletic Hall of Fame Inductee: Bruce Comisar '60!

A standout three-sport athlete, Bruce Comisar excelled in football, basketball, and tennis at Oakwood. A three-year starting quarterback and senior captain, Bruce was named All-League his junior and senior seasons, leading the Lumberjacks to 7-2 and 7-1 records.

He also played four years of tennis and was an integral member of Oakwood's 10-year city championship run.

We're proud to honor Bruce Comisar and celebrate his lasting legacy in Oakwood athletics! 💙🪓

🏈💙💛 Welcome Back to Mack Hummon Stadium, Nick Lewis! 💛💙🏈

We’re proud to welcome 2005 OHS graduate Nick Lewis back to Oakwood as tonight’s Honorary Captain!

Nick was a dominant force at running back for the Lumberjacks, rushing for an incredible 2,008 yards and 33 touchdowns during his senior season, earning 1st Team All-State honors.

After Oakwood, Nick continued his education at Hillsdale College and The Ohio State University. Today, he lives in Columbus and serves as a U.S. Operations Manager for a medical device company.

We’re excited to have Nick back where it all began and celebrate his accomplishments with the Oakwood community!
