Tomorrow is budget vote day in Watertown and Oakville- with over $1.7 million in state funds to town, our budget will remain flat for the next year if this vote passes. Please make a plan to vote- it’s your town and your voice….please make your voices heard

Congrats WHS Class of 2026. It was once again my privilege to attend the commencement exercises at Watertown HS. Special congratulations to our graduates, faculty, staff, BOE and parents for all their hard work.

On Monday evening, I had the privilege of attending the Town Council meeting in Watertown to discuss millions of dollars in new State funding/bonding that will undoubtedly save taxpayers and ratepayers money here in town. I was joined by DPW Director Jerry Lukowski to highlight the importance of state funding to help offset local increases in taxes and utilities. Some highlights include;

1. $1.4 million residual (not one/time) education funding increase

2. $750,000 for Water/Sewer department to offset future rate increases

3. Extra PILOT money for Black Rock State Park (residual)

4. One-time grant for $270,00 to off-set budget increases

These dollars have helped create a zero tax increase budget that is up for vote on Tuesday June 23. I am proud to support the budget that holds the line on property taxes for the upcoming fiscal year.
