Today, we pause to remember the 2,977 lives lost 25 years ago. Among those were 343 firefighters, 72 law enforcement officers, and 8 paramedics. May their sacrifice never be forgotten.

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen will hold their regular board meeting at Town Hall on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 7pm. The public is encouraged to attend.

🚧 Road Striping Tonight on Chickasaw Ridge 🚧

We will be doing some striping work tonight on Chickasaw Ridge, from Highway 64 to just past ATC Fitness, beginning around 8:00 PM.

Please be patient and use extra caution while traveling through the area. There will be workers and equipment along the roadway, so please slow down, stay alert, and give our crews plenty of room to work safely.

Happy Labor Day!

Here are some Labor Day fun facts!
1. Hot Dog Season. The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (who would have guessed there was such a thing?) estimates that Americans eat 7 billion hot dogs between Memorial Day and Labor Day.
2. Wearing White: The old rule against wearing white after Labor Day started in the Victorian era to signal that summer vacations were over.
3. Town Offices are closed today for the holiday!
