Blossom! Look at this gorgeous girl! Her coat is just amazing. Left abandoned and sick, Blossom is fully recovered and excited to get on with her life. She is a very sweet and very smart girl who learns quickly. A little fresh out of the gate zoomies and some ball, and Blossom is quickly played out and ready for cuddling and belly rubs. She has some bull in a china shop moments but is learning to be more self aware. Only about two years old, this girl is a gem - goofy, lovable, quick to bond, and eager to please. She should do well with older kids and a male dog partner is possible. No cats please. Blossom is ready to interview prospective adopters now. The look Bubbles gave us when we told her we haven’t found her new family yet. 😬
Bubbles is a super good girl and she’s trying to be patient, but it’s hard being a penned up perfect pittie. This girl is about 5 years old. She is adorable, playful, smart, lovable and so much more. Bubbles goes from zoom to zonked pretty quick and will make a great movie partner and relax outside companion. We believe she would do well with older kids. A resident has asked us to post to see if this cat has an owner in the area of Pine St/Irving Ave/Howard Ave/Church St/Sayles Ave. She has been frequenting the resident’s property for a while now and they would like to make sure she has a home as someone nearby mentioned she may have been left behind in a move. She has been chip scanned with no chip found. She is being cared for and if an owner is not found, she will come to the shelter. 401-568-9480

SENIOR SIBLINGS! Meet Colby (brown tabby boy) and Kahlua (black girl). This 10 year old brother and sister pair recently lost their home due to the death of their human. At first, they were traumatized to find themselves in the shelter, but they’ve realized they’re safe and we’ve promised them a home together forever. They will need a little time to adjust to new surroundings. Colby and Kahlua have previously lived with children. They’ve always been indoor only cats and are looking for a home where they will be loved and cherished. Both are spayed/neutered and have been brought up to date on vaccines and tested negative for FeLV/FIV and chipped. Colby exhibited a heart murmur at his vet exam but cardiac bloodwork results were normal. He is also a less than cute patient at the vet. IYKYK. We 💯 agree with this post! Flexi-leashes are dangerous.

PSA time! Pictured below is a retractable leash. It has a button that you can push to lock the length or you can let the dog run out, often up to 25-30 feet. In the last 3 days, we have handled multiple dog bite incidents where dogs were on this type of leash. The problem is, once the dog is 20 or more feet away from you, you have absolutely no way to "reel" the dog back in. If you try, you can very easily get a serious burn to your hands from the leash. Basically, you have no control over your dog at all when it is that far from you, period. We have had dogs killed by cars when the button on the leash broke and the dog ran into the street. When we deal with problems involving these leashes, we instruct people to throw them away! When people donate these leashes to us, we THROW THEM AWAY! You can call it retractable, flexi, adjustable, etc., but WE call them problems waiting to happen.

Please use a standard 6 foot leash when walking your dog in a public area and in close proximity to other dogs and people. This will help you to properly control your dog and keep everyone safer!
