Small manufacturers now have access to enhanced financing opportunities through the U.S. Small Business Administration's International Trade Loan (ITL) Program. With a 90% federal loan guarantee, eligible businesses can secure affordable capital to upgrade equipment, modernize facilities, expand operations, hire workers, and strengthen domestic supply chains.

The program has also been expanded to include small businesses throughout the food supply chain, including agriculture, production, and logistics industries.

Congratulations to GAP Trail Foods co-owners Cory Heyman and Justin Tippen for taking first place in the inaugural Amazon Web Services AI Pitch Competition held at Western Maryland Works in LaVale.

Their winning concept focuses on using artificial intelligence to support small-scale indoor mushroom farming operations, earning them a $50,000 prize package in AWS and PREDICTif AI services.

This achievement highlights the innovation and entrepreneurial talent growing right here in Garrett County.
